If I have to think about one more list to make, my head will self-explode.

Off camping in two weeks, just for weekend, please, has someone already made a list, or can they make me a list?

I have DS 3.5 and DD 17 months to think of too.

many hugs in advance and much kissing of feet. xx

And a chopping board for food preparation

MrsBadger · 05/06/2007 13:25

We camp a bit rough-and-ready, so this may not be the Ultimate List:
tent
gas stove
beds - DH & I like a blow-up bed best (get a pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter on the car)
bedding
more bedding
(most of this you can just take the second-best stuff from the kitchen
cooking pans
kettle for a gas stove (vital, water takes ages to boil in pan)
utensils (spatulas, knife, wooden spoons etc)
chopping boards
unbreakable crockery
cutlery you don't mind losing
coolbag or box and freezy blocks
washing up bowl
at least 1 teatowel per day - they always get lost, wet, and/or filthy
torches (head torches v good)
lantern for tent (battery NOT gas)
waterproofs
clothes inc swimwear lots of socks, warm pyjamas and spare jumpers for wearing in bed
towels you don't mind getting muddy (second best again)
wellies or something else that's really waterproof.
chairs & table
basic foods from storecupboard at home to save buying new packets (tea coffee sugar oil salt pepper w-up liquid rice pasta jam marmite wine herbs spices)
more wine
some more wine just in case
string,
elastic bungees etc
scissors,
penknife with saw in case wood fire opportunity arises
matches and gas lighter that works in rain/wind
corkscrew
books to read,
indoor amusments for children in case weather horrid
maps,
guidebooks
kites, frisbees, beachballs etc as your taste runs
picnic rug for lying out on
baseball hat (fetching I know) to wear under waterproof to stop rain dripping off hood into eyes
bandanna or similar to cover unwashed hair, or wear the baseball hat.
two-in-one showergel/shampoo - several bottles as one will get lost
suncream
lip balm
huge 10l thing of mineral water you can refill to save constant dashes to tap
plastic crates w lids for packing it all in

, but LOs sometimes better on camp beds.oh, and

PandaG · 05/06/2007 13:25

woolly hats for sleeping in if cold !
sun hats and sun cream
insect repellant
calpol/nurofen/ etc

Wolfgirl · 05/06/2007 13:28

bakedpotato · 05/06/2007 13:29

has anyone said hot-water bottles

SoMuchToBits · 05/06/2007 13:30

OOh, yes agree with carrier bags.

MrsBadger · 05/06/2007 13:31

kitchen roll

PandaG · 05/06/2007 13:32

clothes pegs - to dry tea/ordinary towels on the guys

MrsBadger · 05/06/2007 13:33

(also good for resealing packets cereal, coffee etc)

SoMuchToBits · 05/06/2007 13:42

Loo roll - in case the loo in the campsite doesn't have any, or only has that stuff like tracing paper which your granny used to have, and which doesn't actually absorb anything! Some campsites do actually have this stuff, incredible as it may seem.

PandaG · 05/06/2007 13:59

Yes Mrs B - that was meant to be the second part of my sentence!

FeelingOld · 05/06/2007 14:36

We always take slippers or toasties to keep our feet warm as no shoes allowed to be worn in our tent (just hate the dirt and grass all over).

Wolfgirl · 05/06/2007 20:25

aha! thought of one of me own - water carrier - aha! i can think for myself (sometimes) LOL

dustystar · 05/06/2007 20:30

Wolfgirl · 05/06/2007 20:32

OP posts:
dustystar · 05/06/2007 20:33

Get one with a lid - you don't want the contents getting knocked all over the groundsheet
