Can you recommend a good CAMPSITE - possibly NEW FOREST area?

ok, we've not camped since we had the dds, aged nearly 3 and 5. we'd like a site with clean facilities. we dont want to have to queue for the shower. a small shop on site might be handy. a pool might be nice, but we want to avoid big eurocamp style sites, full of swanky caravans, iyswim.

i actually think that a basic field would suit me fine, but with the dds, this might be hard work.

any ideas for a good site, not too basic, and in a pretty setting, definately WITHOUT a 'holiday camp' atmosphere?

tia

hi peachy. got back last night.had a great time. dds loved it! (our biggest challenge was when dd1, aged 5 decided to wet the bed. aagh! )

agree with autumn lover. it was great. if you get there early enough you can bag yourself a more secluded woodland spot. i was pleased we didnt need an electric hook up, though, as many of these were in rather large, exposed areas of the site, close to other campers. i prefer to be in a more isolated spot, near trees, at the edge of a field, rather than in the middle of one, iyswim.

i loved the simplicity of this site. have now decided that the only on site facilities we NEED are loos / showers and ice pack freezing service.

Well if you liked it and could live with less facilities consider the sites in the Forest of Dean- easy to get a good few days worth out of so wortha drive, and you don't realise how lovely it is there until you go (we didnt and we're only down the road!). They're also run by forestry commission.

Glad you ahd a good time and looking forwards now!

Ah yes it is with a small one I guess. Save it for when they get older (or do an overnighter)
