We have a pack of cards and Pass the Pigs for our first trip of 2018 in May - any other suggestions of compact but fun games?

Exploding kittens
Uno

Puffycat · 30/03/2018 20:56

I was gonna say pass the pigs, it’s great! We’ve got a blow up version that you could play outside!
Basically 2 big blow up pis that you throw
Might piss off other campers mind

Puffycat · 30/03/2018 20:57

Sorry pigs not pis

cornflakegirl · 30/03/2018 21:08

Love letters (card game, not actually at all soppy)
Dobble - image matching
Set - pattern recognition
Sushi Go

JennyJames · 30/03/2018 21:23

Adults or kids or both?

If adults, Cards Against Humanity.

Aprilmightmemynewname · 30/03/2018 21:24

We have just packed dominoes for our trip next week.
But we really know how to rave!!

redpickle · 30/03/2018 21:34

Brilliant- lots of good suggestions thank you! Yes, we're looking for family games, DCs 7 & 10. Exploding kittens looks good and GIANT pass the pigs - no way!! That's a definite.

Bananagrams and dobble.

JumpingFrogs · 30/03/2018 21:37

We've always enjoyed Pass the Bomb. Simple word game but you need kids of a certain age as it's a spelling game. Yahtzee is a great dice game.

LEMtheoriginal · 30/03/2018 21:42

I think I might invest in exploding kittens.

Cards against humanity is the best thing in the world like ever but most definitely not for kids!

We have a good game called forbidden island. It's a co operative game rather than competitive and comes in a fairy compact tin. It needs a flat surface to play on.

LEMtheoriginal · 30/03/2018 21:44

Our go to though is a pack of cards and a ban on internet!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 30/03/2018 21:45

Another vote for Exploding Kittens and Uno.

Jenijena · 30/03/2018 21:46

Kingdominos - a fairly new game, small
Box, works quite nicely, doesn’t need a big table area.

Hellsbellscockleshells · 30/03/2018 21:48

Cards, Doninoes or Boules Morison’s usually have a version in our two love this also pack lots of extra warm blankets we don’t usually camp until the beginning of June as May is too cold but we live in the very north of England.

Kittenswithattitudeandchickens · 30/03/2018 21:50

Boggle!

ChippyMinton · 30/03/2018 21:56

Teach them to play poker.
Or backgammon.
Battleships.
Mastermind.

Some great suggestions already, and I’d add the playing card version of monopoly.
And a mooch around the charity shops on a wet day usually turns up some gems.

2cats2many · 30/03/2018 21:57

Rainbow rage is a good one.

A good outdoor game is Kubb.

Ylvamoon · 30/03/2018 22:01

We have story cubes for those lovely evenings!

ScribblyGum · 30/03/2018 22:02

Coup
Love Letter
Monopoly Deal
Skull

pongopig · 30/03/2018 22:03

Dobble is brilliant. I was going to say pass the pigs but you’ve got that already. Uno good too.

Jeffjefftyjeff · 30/03/2018 22:08

Shut the box (travel version). Also, I had hours of conversation out of a lateral thinking game aimed at kids when ds and friend were 9. Just cards with different conundrums on.

totorosfluffytummy · 30/03/2018 22:17

Dinkee Linkee
Great game that entertained my kids aged 8-14

Also for outdoor games - Swingball

And generally something to play mus

DangerEgg · 30/03/2018 22:17

Dobble

sproutsandparsnips · 30/03/2018 22:18

Another vote for uno - introduced my 7 and 10 yo at the time and they really took to it.
9 card brag as well but you need something to bet with - we used sunflower seeds.

totorosfluffytummy · 30/03/2018 22:18

Posted to soon

Something to play music on
And GLow Sticks :)
