Camping with 2.5 month old

I'm wanting to go camping in England at the end of August when my little one will be about 2.5 month old. Has anyone had any experience with them that young or will it be too cold for them in a tent?

We went with ours when he was about 4 months old and it was fine. He wore layers at night; bodysuit, pyjamas, fleece suit, baby sleeping bag. Mittens on but no hat. He was in his Moses basket that was on top of a foam mat to insulate from the cold ground. It's good to take a thermometer with you so you know the night time temperature and if it's very low you can always add a blanket on top.

Oh and it was 13 degrees at night when we went camping and our little one was toasty and warm Smile

I've been camping on an August BH and had frost on the tent in the morning.

I did camping with my 2 from 6 months old. A 2.5 will love it! Recommend those dungaree waterproof trousers for first thing in morning as grass can be wet. Also potty useful (even if they don't use one any more) for the "I need a wee/poo" cry in the night - saves trudging to toilet block. Also lots of wet wipes, waterproof backed camping blankets and a tarp/ shelter for a sun shade for mellowing out under. Have fun

Large tub with a lid and handle for steralising with Milton if needed. (Handle makes going to the camp tap easier) Morrisons sell them for a couple of quid.

Flask to keep water hot all day.

Fleecy babygrows and gloves on hands at bed time to keep little one warm.

Headtorch for changing nappies and walking around with baby in your arms.

All in one sun suits (spf 50) are brilliant for that time of year. I would have a couple.

When little one is a bit older and moving more a puddle suite is great for early morning dewy grass.
Take a spare groundsheet for outside the tent and a pop up ball pool makes a fab temp play pen.

Don’t change baby on your bed. The cold makes them pee.
Voice of bitter experience that didn’t learn the first time. Confused
