Camper van/motorhome must-haves?

Hi there

My mum is finally buying a much-dreamt-of motorhome and I thought some bits for it would be good for Christmas. Any particularly amazing gadgets or must-have luxuries you’d recommend?

Thanks Smile

Collapsible draining rack , grippy mat stuff, lighter thing for the oven, good quality plastic wine glasses, stacking pan set, decent folding chairs and table, tennis racket style bug zapper, CO2 detector, more wine

Ha! Brilliant suggestions, thank you.
Will be sure to wrap wine Wine

We used to have a camper van and my essentials were a fold up step which used to help me get my non-agile arthritic self in and out easier, and some good fold-up chairs for sitting outside in the evenings. We also had dedicated bedding, (non-breakable) crockery and cutlery which lived in there all year round so there was less hassle when it came to packing. Oh I miss our ‘drop of the hat’ spare pair of pants and a pack of beer weekends now!

a membership to the caravan and motorhome club if she is likely to use the sites, comes with a monthly magazine
or maybe a subscription to a motorhome magazine

Does your van have fixed bed, or are you sleeping on the seat cushions? If seat cushions, then invest in a memory foam mattress topper, at least one inch thick, thicker if you have room to store it. It makes a world of difference to a good nights sleep.

Hello all, sorry missed these extra suggestions! Many thanks, all great ideas. Subscription is a great idea.

I have seen a collapsible kettle online but it’s a stove top one... would you be more likely to use a plug in as you have electricity??

Thanks again for the help Smile

it depends if she will be using sites with electric hook up or not, gas is useful if you dont have hook up if youre stopping at services or somewhere on her way to a site or if she wants to use cl sites or not electric, gas could be very useful it saves buying a low ampage camping one
