First Ever Camping Trip - Help find a site

I have been lurking here for ages. Have now bought a tent and am going camping for the first time at Easter. Not sure if I am going to love it or hate it

Searching the internet for a site. Does anyone have any recommendations.

Ideally

Nr a village for a pub. or just a pub
Doesn't have to have a club house or many facilities or anything like that.
Small two person tent
Good for cycling
Scenic - and maybe some culture nearby.

100/200 miles of Leeds.

Does this sound too much?

Hopefully - someone can help. Getting very nervous - normally a hotel sort of person.

Good luck with the camping. It is great fun. I can't actually recommend anywhere near Leeds but would say to search online, where details of pubs, parks etc are listed with sites. You will probably need to book soon as everywhere round here (Somerset/Devon)is already pretty booked up.
Try not to worry about the kids getting filthy and you will enjoy it more! For your first trip I would say not to go too far from home in case it rains and you hate it.
Happy camping!

lol, that's why I want to be relatively close to home. An escape route. Watch out for the cheap camping gear on ebay if all goes t*ts up!!

Very worried about the trek to the loos. Bladder not what it was....suspect the field might be used in the night.

Actually - don't suspect it will be a quick piddle in the field, I know it will...

Everyone I know is laughing at the thought of me camping. But I am trying to become a healthier outdoorsy type person.

That's why bit worried about a camp site - as I have not got much to go on. Ideally need a recommendation so I know it is me not the camping if it all goes wrong.

This is my favourite site in the whole world... www.fishergroundcamping.co.uk

Plus sides:
In the most beautiful, quiet part of the Lakes.
You can have camp fires on site.
Nice pub two minutes' walk away.
Eskdale Trail cycle path (as featured in last week's Countryfile) on your doorstep.
Not much in the way of culture, but all the scenery and walking you could ask for.
An adventure playground for the little ones.
'La'al Ratty' miniature steam railway runs past the site.
Facilities are basic but fine.

Down sides:
I have only gone off-season, but apparently it does get very busy at peak times, and you can't book (there are no set pitches, you just find a space and pitch up).

HTH!

Many thanks - I've had a look at the web site and this looks exactly what I am looking for. I like the Lakes too.

Have my first trial weekend over Easter in Derbyshire. Then we will go to this one next. It looks beautiful.

Unless I hate it of course.
