Hmmm I've blown it with the clothes this year. Even after whirling down, the front end of our tent is filled with bloody clothes.

Can someone tell me how to get organised? Even if it means stopping In a Decalthlon Confused

Stuff are packed in Ikea bags at the moment and it's doing my head in.

Invest in a storage unit. . Shelves and all zips closed. Flexi tub for shoes!!

Heratnumber7 · 03/08/2017 16:15

Keep your clothes in the boot of the car

profpoopsnagle · 03/08/2017 17:33

Move your tent to a naturist site? Grin

Dawnedlightly · 03/08/2017 17:34

Def clothes in back of car.

Shadow666 · 03/08/2017 17:36

I saw a car with all the clothes in plastic tubs and drawers but I swear everyone at the campsite must have tardis cars as we have bugger all room and at least the IKEA bags squash down. I agree though, keep the bags in the boot of the car and just pull out what you need.

Live out of a suitcase - you could stack similar sized cases.

If the tent is large enough you could use a portable clothes rail.

A canvas pop up storage unit would be good if you can find one...

I store clothes in a hand luggage case or hold-all at the far end of each mattress/sleeping pod - keeps them out of the way!

This sort of thing might come in handy?

Snozwanger · 03/08/2017 17:57

Like popping we each have a small hold-all at the head end of our bed.

I liked the idea of a clothes rail, then you could get one of those fabric hanging shelf things to put on one end.

Alternatively you could invest in one of those proper metal framed camp beds and store the clothes underneath. You have to fill that space anyway to insulate you from the cold ground.

WelshMoth · 03/08/2017 17:58

I like all your ideas it must be said.

It's 30 degrees here in S of France so it's not as if we need layers.

I've done that typical Welsh thing of "I'll take the fleece/thermals/galoshes JUST IN CASE." Hmm

We suffer from this too but I'm at a loss what to do about it! Despite the tent being massive there just isn't anywhere to put a cupboard! The ceiling of the inners is too sloped, and the living space would mean blocking a door which we don't want to do.

Very frustrating!

TestTubeTeen · 04/08/2017 09:41

LOL, well the fleeces and galoshes can live in the car boot (until needed Wink).

Look at the Vango Pop Up Storage Tent Organiser. Doesn't need full height.

MrsHathaway · 04/08/2017 09:48

We have camp beds so keep clothes in ikea bags underneath. We transport clothing in suitcases which live in the trailer during the camp.

Fucking socks though. No matter how many I pack, not enough bastard socks.

Moogdroog · 04/08/2017 13:57

No advice, but I do that typical Welsh thing too. Took jumpers, raincoats, fleeces to Menorca last year. Living round here, you've got to be prepared and i can't unlearn that!!

WelshMoth · 05/08/2017 23:32

Glad I packed all and sundry now.

It's dropped to bloody 14 degrees in the Spanish mountings. Shock

14 bloody degrees! It'd be warmer in Aberdare right now! And it's blowing a gale.....Confused

If you find a solution, let me know. We are the same when we go camping - and no matter how many times I try to tidy up the bags so I know what's where, things get messed up in 10 seconds flat...
