Camping in Holland?

We're considering camping in Holland this summer for a few nights- will probably get the ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland and then maybe Eurotunnel back.

Can anyone recommend a good family campsite in Holland? We don't need a club house, but areas for our young boys to play, interesting places nearby, a pool would be great. We'd want EHU and wifi as DH feels like he's had an arm chopped off if he can't keep up with the sport!

Dunirell is a fab campsite , with a large pool complex and beach nearby. Public transport is great for visiting places nearby.

Wow, looks amazing. Seems to be booked up for when we want to go though, fear we've left it too late to book anywhere decent!

It has to be Duinrell! We've been 3 times now.

Where have you looked for availability? We've always booked with them direct but could also try the operators - from memory Eurocamp, Canvas and Al Fresco all do holidays there.

Try searching the anwb site and alan rogers for similar sites.

The Netherlands has 3 different areas for school holidays, slightly staggered for starting and ending points. You may find more availability after the 20th August. More info here

I have tried a few places for Duinrell and no luck. DH's leave is booked for first two weeks of the holidays and we are heading over to East Anglia to visit family so thought it would be good to add on the holiday to that. We went to Holland a few years ago when elder DS was a toddler and it was so family friendly. We do have friends there (albeit ones we haven't seen since that trip), so could meet up with them.

I've found the RCN site- their campsites look good, there's one just near Efteling so that could be an option. We'll be away over DS's birthday so a trip to a theme park could be a good sweetener for being away over that!

We went to www.koningshofholland.com/en/ this site in May half term. The dds declared it the Best Campsite Ever! There is a lovely pool area, decent play area and wifi. Its an easy car trip from there to Amsterdam and the beaches at Katwijk are lovely. I can also highly recommend Efteling Smile

We camped in Delft many years ago lovely campsite right next to the most amazing playground we have ever visited. Sorry don't know the name but Delft isn't that big so should be able to find it. Town is nice too and Holland is easy to get around driving or by public transport

Not Holland but just over the border in to Belgium

Man made lake and beach with huge play area. we had days out in Brussels and Antwerp. It's also not too far to Efteling.

Thanks all!

We are considering this place- www.rcn.nl/en/holiday-park/holland/brabant/rcn-de-flaasbloem as it looks like it is a great location. Close to Antwerp and even near enough for a trip to Cologne if we fancy it. Really close to Efteling and not too far from the ferry either. Though of course everything in the Netherlands is pretty close Grin.

I did look at a few Belgian sites (DH was keen on Belgium due to beer), but the reviews all said they were a bit dirty, whilst the Dutch sites say they are really clean. After spending six months in Belgium as a student I can see how that might be the case! I'm also very keen on getting the boys on their bikes there. DS2 has just learnt to ride, but not brake yet, so nice flat bike paths sound good!

If we have an EHU are we likely to need an adapter? I understand the connections are sometimes different at European campsites? I've only used an EHU once before and I borrowed that.
