Single parent camping with a toddler

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advice please! I'm an outdoors person and love camping. But I'm totally useless with poles etc I just can't ever work out instructions for tents. So I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for easy to put up tents for 2 people, roomyish but not huge that isn't ridiculously expensive.

I want to be able to take my daughter camping but I'm scared about doing it on my own. Plus I'm a bit scared of gas stoves, are there any alternatives? x

I have a kampa brean 3 for myself and my toddler and find it really easy to put up and down alone, there's only 3 poles and they're colour coded, it's not huge but it's plenty big enough for 2 and standing height throughout. We use the little single hob cookers with a small canister of gas inside rather than a big one, much easier and safer. I don't know where you're based/wanting to go but if you want someone to go with first time then me and my son are looking for new friends to camp with x

I stayed in a camping pod with DD last year when she was just turned 3. Tbh going away on your own with a toddler is hard full stop but I imagine in a tent would be horrendous (not that outdoorsy myself though)

Whatever tent you get, practice putting it up a few times before you go camping. It always much more difficult to put up a tent in the dark or rain if you haven't done it before. I speak from bitter experience
