Hi thanks for remembering me. Thought i wouldn't re hijack the primary thread and answer on here instead.
We actually bought the tent at the nec show that we went to. Like you said we got a good deal. Have been waiting for them to deliver it to a local store, and actually heard today that they have got it in, so we are going to pick it up on Saturday. Fingers crossed for fine weather for the weekend so that we can attempt to put it up and have a look at it.
We're all getting really excited now, and are getting into the nitty gritty of buying everything else.
What are your thoughts on stoves. Have you got a separate one and then a stand, or an all in one iyswim?

helllooo!

I've never had my name on a thread title before, I've come over all giddy..

Glad you liked the tent, they are so straightforward to put up that ours only took 40 minutes all in the first time - we can now have it all done and pegged out in 30 minutes - beer breaks permitting!

We've got one of these cookers and stand it on a small table outside for cooking under the porch - I have this thing about not cooking in a nylon tent!

We have something like this storage unit inside the tent to keep all the (mice loving) food in and all the tins/bottles etc go into collapsible crates from Tesco's.

We also take our barbecue if we have room and the sites allow it.

What are you thinking of?

Lucycat · 06/03/2007 12:57

if you want a cooker stand I've just found this one at a fantastic price and \link{http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=1634this larder} is good value at £13!

Stops the mice getting your custard creams

Lucycat · 06/03/2007 12:57

crap, try again

ahem larder.

marymoocow · 06/03/2007 13:05

wow looks fantastic, will show dh when he gets home.
Must say the first link looked a bit frightening lol
And i got all giddy too when i saw my name being used in a thread hi jack.
Thanks for all your help. I don't like the idea of cooking in the tent either which is why we went for one with a canopy. Not sure what cooker dh has been thinking of but think it looks similar to yours, but with windshields that come up around the side as well iyswim.

The windshield thing is a good idea, I tend to position our windbreaks around the cooker area - although i really detest it when people create a corral for themselves using their windbreaks

marymoocow · 07/03/2007 21:00

this is the cooker that dh has been looking at. He likes the look of the store cupboard as well. Can't quite decide whether to get that one or the argos one though. hmmm will have to think about it.

that looks like a bargain, you will also have to go and buy your gas bottle with regulator from a camping store - and they aren't cheap!

I think we paid £40 for the bottle (full of gas), the regulator and hoses. Which reminds me, i must try and see how much gas we have left for this year!

tigi · 07/03/2007 21:38

We've just bought that stove from GO, but not tried it yet - it is a real bargain.

marymoocow · 09/03/2007 14:15

Have already got a gas bottle that my parents gave to us, so have only got to get a regulator fortunately.
Glad to hear that the stove does really exist. Was thinking it was too much of a bargain to be true. Think i will get dh to order it tonight.

ooh yes do!

now what else can we track down for you?

marymoocow · 09/03/2007 17:50

weeeeell, what size are your pans? saw some enormous ones in millets today, but thought they would look ridiculous on a camping stove. hmmm. Haven't seriously looked yet but in the dim and distant past when i used to camp with parents i remember that you could convert the lids into frying pans. Is that still possible?
Oh and then there's chairs.....the list is endless

Well we bought some lightweight and cheap ones from IKEA, but we also have a set of nesting ones like these from our Inter-railing days that we use for weekends away.

I prefer a proper frying pan for my morning bacon

Lucycat · 09/03/2007 18:23

these are our IKEA ones

and our frying pan

marymoocow · 09/03/2007 20:00

oooh so much choice, and so many decisions. Thanks for those links, will have to do some research i think
