Theoretically, is it possible to get a tent that would sleep 5-6 people but doesn't have separate bedrooms?

I think the rooms would only cause arguments and I'm sure you can tessilate better in one big area.
Ideally, it should also be easy for one adult to put up with varying amounts of help/hindrance

why would rooms cause arguments?

the idea of an entire family all in one room seems bonkers to me tbh

but I'm sure theoretically possible yes

Lucycat · 08/02/2007 12:57

the main advantage of having bedrooms is that all your stuff doesn't wander all over the tent.

You can get tents that have one large bedroom with a hanging divider sheet that rolls up if needed.

as Twiglett asks - why arguments?

Jessajam · 08/02/2007 12:58

yep, lots of tents have removable 'walls' between the rooms. Would probably need to be a big frame tent rather than a pod-like one.

Boy scout type?

We used to have a 2-man ridge (when we young and fit and thin) and that went up in about 2 minutes but a bigger one might be a bit - er - enveloping when you crawled inside to wrestle with the poles

JanH · 08/02/2007 13:01

like this (camouflage optional )

Lucycat · 08/02/2007 13:02

How about something like this?

groovy huh?

TooTicky · 08/02/2007 13:03

Arguments because dcs would want to share and then suddenly demand privacy, shortly before wanting to swap. And then deciding they all wanted to sleep together anyway.
JanH, I was thinking of the traditional type but they don't seem to be readily available now. Mind you, I stayed in one years ago at a Quaker camp and the poles were very heavily wooden.
It has to be easy as dp doesn't fancy camping but dcs are desperate to try it, so it's down to me

or this one?

TooTicky · 08/02/2007 13:05

Hey, I quite like that JanH. I mean, what is so good about the pod shape anyway?
Omg Lucycat, that is quite cool but expensive!!

TooTicky · 08/02/2007 13:12

A lot of modern tents have the individual bedrooms with built in ground sheets, these reduce draughts and bugs . If you just use a ground sheet then it won't be as warm.

Here is one that seems to be just one space
Or one like this that has a big living area and one bedroom area.

Skribble · 08/02/2007 13:35

Oh no we had a army tent like some of those wish we had kept it to sell if you can get that much!

TooTicky · 08/02/2007 13:37

Ooh thanks Skribble. That first one looks ideal. Not that we've got any money, but it's nice to have theoretical plans

Another all in one, dome shape

TooTicky · 08/02/2007 13:44

That site doesn't seem to like me, it's very sticky.
