Eurocamp / Keycamp in Tuscany in late May /early June - who's been?

And what did you think? I've read a lot of the other threads and I want to know:

  • Is it cold at night? Will the solitary blanket provided be enough?
  • Sites in the area, whether Eurocamp / Keycamp / Other. Which have you been to and what did you think?
  • Are they noisy in comparison to say, french sites?
And anything else. Just tell me about your holidays there!

Hi, we went to Norcenni Girasole in Aug last year and needed the one blanket then, so may well be worth taking sleeping bags or similar for earlier. Went with Keycamp, couldn't fault them. Site was brilliant, it was large and v busy but that's what I'd deliberately chosen as it was my first hols as single parent with 4 DCs (ages 4 - 13)and didn't want to risk them being bored! Site v clean, loads to do for all ages, v good facilities whether buying food from on site supermarkets or eating out. Entertainment each night, but site v quiet once it had finished. Site arranged lots of excursions too, we even ventured into Florence. Can't recommend it highly enough (should be on commission really the amount of people I've recommended it to!) DCs are desperate to go back which we'd like to do next year but for 07 are off to a Keycamp site in the South of France, next to the beach, the lack of which in Tuscany was probably the only (v small) downside.
Can't really compare it to lively French sites as the ones we'd been to before in France were when I was still with DH, and then we deliberately chose extremely quiet sites as that was what we wanted at the time.

Argh we are going to Lake Garda in April, will I be freezing at night? Take the thermals?

Hi Skribble

I personally would take your thermals for at night! Went to Northern France at the end of May '03 and it was FREEZING at times in the mobile homes at night. Italy was about 80 degrees during the day when we were there and I was surprised how much colder it got at night.

Thanks I will pack the thermals then won't DH be happy .
