Campsite in Dorset recommendations please

We are thinking of having a week in Dorset this summer so would like campsite recommendations please. We are after something smallish and quiet (rather than a holiday park type thing) but family friendly, we have a 4yo and 2yo. Ideally on or close to the beach. We don't know Dorset at all, we live in the grim north Wink so no idea where to start looking.

We stayed at riversidelakes in Wimborne last year. Quiet camping-think swallows and amazons in the daytime! The owner brings round glow sticks for all the kids at night and you can have a campfire too! We looked on cool camping website and there were tons of options! I'd love to know where you decide on!

I can't recommend longthorns farm enough. Right next to monkey world, very near the tank museum and easy drive to beaches / poole / bournemouth. It is a chilled out relaxed place with plenty of space for the children to play and a whole wood to explore. We love it there.

There is a lovely one right on the beach in Charmouth. I can't remember the name but will look it up in a second.

Charmouth has a selection of shops/ pubs and there is a nice beach café. You are also in easy reach of Lyme Regis which is lovely and has an area of actual sand if you want a break from the shingle. Non-beach attractions like Abbotsbury Swannery and Weymouth Sea Life Centre are nearby.

Ooh Burnbake is lovely!

Burnbake as been sold new owners recently so may well be different now.

Eweleaze is amazing. Not small at all, but basic camping. No clubhouse, etc. don't even think there's ehu. Own private beach though.

Another vote for Longthorns here ( we were there last week)

Inside Park - Blandford Forum was lovely.

I would second Eweleaze. Fab for small.children. Haybales to climb on and lots of animals.to pet.

It is only open in August and gets busy so needs to be booked soon. It is massive but back to basics and encourages fires. Some fields are car free except for packing and unpacking which is good for small children. Amazing views too. The private beach is stony so bring water shoes if you do go.

We have been every year since DD was a toddler. Sadly having a break this year.

Another vote for Eweleaze here! Amazing site. Beautiful spot, private beach is brilliant. Good little shop selling local food and drink. Not a small
site but still has quite a laid back, relaxed vibe...fires allowed! We love it.
