How do you fold a tent so it fits back inside its bag?

We have a new tent. Its the first time we have really owned a proper tent - ast one was a small pop up.

First time we used it, between me and Dh we did get it back inside the bag without too much issue, but it really was more luck than judgement.

But this time we have just got home late last night from CarFest this weekend. The bottom of the tent was still damp so we just threw it in the car rather than tackle the bag. Its now been outside this morning and is fully dry but....now it is time for the bag, and I don't have DH around as he is at work.

The bag looks tiny and the tent looks huge - its a 6 man tunnel type tent with sewn in grown sheet it that helps.

So is there a trick? Or a clever way for it to go back it in easily?

We have a Vango MIRA and we put it back in minus the poles which made life much easier! It also made the tent much easier to carry.

Lay flat. Fold over one end to the other about 2/3 of the way. Fold other end over to the new end. Fold in half to get a long rectangle then roll from one end to the other.

Failing that find a you tube video!

I find kneeling on it while rolling it up, to get it really tight, helps. Then once it's rolled you can put the bag over the tent rather than trying to put the tent in the bag IYSWIM.

Some tents are impossible to get back in the bag though.

We fold our tunnel in half down the middle of the roof (so all the insides are inside), then fold the ends in so it's roughly oblong. IIRC it gets folded a couple more times until it's the width of the bag, then rolled tightly (some tents you roll round the poles) and tied up.
