Not long till we go now

We're hiring a fridge- is it one that is delivered to pitch and if so how big is it going to be? Where do you put your fridge, we have a tent and will be putting up a tarp but may need to re think electric stuff.

And, how warm is the river- will wetsuits be a good idea if there's space?

Hi Prof - the fridge will be delivered to your pitch and it is a standard single fridge size including a small freezer section at the top. Much bigger than I was anticipating actually. We have a side extension on our tent which housed it beautifully. It comes on a pallet so we kept it on that.

The lake is warm enough that you don't need wetsuits (we were there last 2 weeks August).

I will be interested to hear your feedback. My only criticism last year was that the restaurant menu was quite limited but it was their first year as new owners and I think they may have made some improvements this year.

Do you know which part of the site you will be pitched on?

It's an amazing campsite and I hope you love it as much as we do. We are going back again in August for longer Grin

Thanks hillbilly, we will need to think where to put the fridge if it is that big- and where the other electrical items will go as we only have 1 cable. But it will be a great bonus not to have to take the coolbox and to have bigger fridge storage.

What things did they serve at the restaurant? We generally don't eat out that much when on holiday as with a ASD child it's usually not that relaxing, but as it's onsite that might make life easier.

Don't know where we are yet but have asked for part shade if possible. Kind of hoping we are down nearer the pool, but we are taking scooters anyway.

Did you explore the area much- anything you would especially recommend?

We also only had a single cable (borrowed from the campsite as ours had not arrived in time), with 4 sockets so it served well for fridge, phones and ipads.

The restaurant served pizzas, some salads, burgers and a couple of meat dishes.

Lots to do in the area although the reason we are going back is because we felt we did not explore the area well enough. Lovely caves, 2 rivers for canoeing (Dordogne and Vezeres), many village markets.

Pitching down by the pool is great and regardless of where you are, scooters will be handy.

Have fun!
