Stuff for two nights when travelling by train.

Help! Next weekend I am going camping and getting to the site by train, including a change using the Tube.

What is the minimum I can get away with taking? So far I have tent, poles, pegs and mallet in one bag. Will just a sleeping bag be fine for two nights in a shared tent, or will I regret not taking a SIM/blankets.

I don't need cooking stuff, but I do need a dinner and breakfast and drinks.

What should I take footwear-wise? Normally I have trainers, wellies and Crocs.

I am clueless, I am used to camping for a week - 10 days, having my car to fill up with odds and ends and just-in-case items.

No advice - I'm a novice too - but bumping in case of any experts out there!

How are you planning to carry/transport your gear?

I would take a SIM. I would wear trainer and take just crocs. For brekkie, take cereal in a plastic box (like those from takeaways) or something like brioche? How gourmet do you want to be for dinner? Ready filled pasta with pesto/sauce would be easy enough and filling. (I assuming someone else is taking cooking stuff).

Carrying options are a varity of rucksacks, from ordinary school bag sized, up to 65L. I'd prefer a smaller bag, as I have to go to work first and have no space for a big bag, so would have to pay for two things in Left Luggage.

My rucksack has loops on the bottom which means you could attach the SIM there (a la Duke of Edinburgh camping style), hopefully that would mean you'd only have to pay for 1 left luggage item. But when travelling around the tube you might want to take it off and hold it to your front as a wider load is harder through the ticket barriers.

You need to make a pile of stuff which you want to take and then go from there. Pack things like toothbrushes separately, don't take a washbag. You can also use a small towel/flannel to dry after a shower.

remember a tooth brush and decoderent.. I've forgotten to take them on Holliday before, it was not fun
Also I would take a blanket but it doesn't have to take up much space you could roll it up put it in the bottom of your bag :)
