Do they have beds in them?

I have been googling for hours.....& then when I find a site I don't understand the booking

Let me re-define it; I want
a) warm & dry
b) 30 minutes from Worthing
c) somewhere nice
d) less than £250 for 4 nights (Th-M)

Gosh I am demanding - sorry Blush

everton would you say that for evening commute too? I have to get from work in Ditchling to Worthing for a babysit on Tuesday and dreading going through that sodding tunnel! (sorry to hijack for a moment Katy!)

KatyMac · 18/05/2014 21:12

Hijack away - what's the tunnel?

There's a smallish tunnel that goes between Shoreham and Worthing on the A27, when listening to the radio on my commute there always seems to be accidents either side of it though and traffic backing up Hmm It's also in what I think is an interesting part of the road as there are some busy parts shortly after it and I get paranoid about getting stuck in traffic whilst in the tunnel because I'm a weirdo like that Blush

KatyMac · 18/05/2014 21:43

I can understand that - there is a small bit of single carriage A47 near here that I avoid like the plague.....

I've never got stuck in that tunnel! IME nothing snarls up on A27 dual carriageway unless there's an accident in which case all bets are off. It can be slow around Worthing as it goes to 1 lane but otherwise A27 is fine.

What time are you babysitting? Rush hour tends to be 5ish - DH passes through Worthing around 6.30pm and it is usually clear and quick. It also depends on where in Worthing you're going as the A27 is around the north so you need to add on getting through town.

PixieofCatan · 18/05/2014 22:26

Thanks everton :) I'm leaving Ditchinling (a few miles out of it anyway) at 6 so will babysit from the time that I arrive.

Good to know about traffic, I haven't gone past that stretch many times and it probably has just been a massive coincidence that it's been busy on the few times I've passed it on my way to the climbing wall in Shoreham :) I actually live near Brighton Marina so I go the other way usually!

evertonmint · 18/05/2014 22:31

I reckon 45 mins max depending on which bit of Worthing, maybe 30 mins if you are able to zip along.

I've always found it worse at weekends heading to the beach tbh, and DH finds it fairly predictable (he does it twice a week)

PixieofCatan · 18/05/2014 22:33

Thanks :) It's close to the seafront and further from the Adur so probably nearer 45 minutes. I'm just hoping that my sat nav doesn't die or I'm fucked!

KatyMac · 19/05/2014 10:13

Sumners Ponds is fully booked

What about other hotels in Worthing? The Burlington is quite nice, and right on the seafront.

KatyMac · 19/05/2014 16:08

It's a bit too expensive for me, I'm afraid; but it looks lovely

OP posts:
KatyMac · 21/05/2014 21:18

I think I might cancel it - I must be a cheapskate as I can't find much for under £300

OP posts:
KatyMac · 01/06/2014 10:49

Has anyone got any other ideas?

What week are you looking for? There are loads of B&Bs on the seafront

NoArmaniNoPunani · 01/06/2014 14:41

here for example

KatyMac · 01/06/2014 16:02
