Talk to me about the Montana 6 vs an air beam

Looking at maybe buying a slightly bigger tent later in the season, when I can find a good offer.

I have 6 children, and dh is yet to come camping with us. Eldest child is 14, youngest is 2.

Would a Montana 6 be too cramped at night? Is there a similar pitching style in a larger berth outwell? Can you add sleeping compartments to a Montana 6 ?

Other contenders are an vango air beam exodus 800 or the newer model (name escapes me)

Or go really cheap but a bit complicated and get the go outdoors 10 berth tent (kalahari?) and just turn the air blue when pitching and the kids are running in all directions.

Currently have a 5m soul pad which I love for easy pitching but hate for lack of storage areas, cooking areas, low sides, ducking down to get in etc etc. it's def a fair weather tent for me.

We have just got a Montana 6 and it was fine for 5 of us. DC are 7, 5 and 2.

Sleeping space was fine but you can only just squeeze 3 single air beds into each sleeping compartment so for larger children it may be too small. You can get an extension but not to sleep in.

Check the hydrostatic head measurement before buying a cheaper tent; the higher the number, the more waterproof the tent.
14 year old should be able to help with pitching the tent! My 6 year old is ace (although 10 yr old DS about as much use as a chocolate teapot....)
Our best tents have been Outwell.

Generally the 14 year old is off entertaining the youngest ones.
