We are looking to buy a good size tent for 2 adults and 3 kids age 8,5,3 with good living space?
Pretty new to it all, have gathered that vango are a good make, and like the layout of the diablo, and also like the tunnel tents that have all bedroom at the back?
Any tips or advice on which style and layout good for a family?
Thanks Grin

This is what we have just bought - www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/easy-camp-boston-600-75110130?id_colour=98.

Put it up last weekend, really happy with it.

We have the Outwell Montana 6P - and love it.

This? Vango Samara

or I would look at a Vango Icarus. Roomy and very quick and simple to put up. Do you plan a 2 week hol in it? Or weekends?

Don't get the Diablo. We had a 4 man one and it was a bitch to put up. We had massive rows at the start of each camping trip as we wrestled with the bugger - and that was without the added stress of kids. One of the poles snapped in the end (after about 8 uses) and we swapped it for a vango 6 man tunnel tent. Much easier to put up despite being much bigger. Masses of living space so you can feel comfortable even on rainy days.

Taffy we have the Montana tooGrin it's brilliant. Camped last weekend no drafts etc easy to put up and large living space. Worth every penny. Gets lots of admiring looks too Envy

I definitely wouldn't go for a complicated set up like the Diablo, especially with the extra expense. They are a nightmare to ut up and fold - having observed it. Though I daresay practice makes perfect and all that.

With 3 youngish kids you don't need both adults engaged in a complicated lengthy pitching exercise at the start and finish of every trip.

The advantage of something like the Icarus tunnel tent is that it has a moveable partition so that you can make one big sleeping area, or have one smaller and one bigger and have the 3 year old in with you, or whatever. With a 3 year old I think it's very handy to be in an adjoining sleeping compartment.

The Icarus 600 has loads of space, anyway. If you graduate to fortnights away you can upgrade by adding the huge canopy to make even more living space.
