MIldew on tent

Our tent is 3 years old. We used it once then my DSis borrowed it a couple of times and sent it back to us with what look like dots of mildew on in a number of places . She insists that she dried it out thoroughly (which means she won't replace it), but admits it did pour down "for a few days" when they used it once. We used it overnight a couple of weeks ago in heavy rain and it seemed to hold up - so is it doomed? I thought once you had mildew that was it - new tent needed. Or can it be treated and if so with what, or shall I just leave it and if it proves to be not waterproof get another one when it happens? We don't go away for more than three nights in it but we are going for three nights over bank holiday and I don't want to get caught if it rains!
Advice welcome!

I'd get some waterproof stuff, stick it up in the garden, spray it, and then chuck some water at it. reckon it would probably be alright I've slept in mouldy tents on many occasions, what bit is mouldy?

Thanks, I'll have a go! Well I can see bits all over here and there really, just small patches. It doesn't smell though. It doesn't rub off.

Use white vinegar to get the mildew off, then air it to get rid of the smell.
