Camping after flooding...

We were originally planning 3 camping trips this year - dorset area over easter and twice in cornwall in the summer

After all the rain / flooding, I'm a bit concerned about how realistic I am being!

Is it likely that ground will be firm enough to camp on in just over a month? What about the south west in the summer after the serious problems there? I really want to book our easter break now but its so hard to know what to do for the best! What is anyone else doing?

Funnily enough I emailed the campsite I hope to go to at Easter about this. I remember it being very soggy last May half term after a deluge!

Also I am leaving everything until the last minute this year but if it was a main holiday I would go ahead and book. Or forget UK and go to France

have checked on website for one of the sites we wanted in Cornwall and they have made a point of saying no issues there, sandy ground drains fast apparently

just need to make a decision about easter I guess! might leave it another week and see what the weather is doing!

We went to a campsite in Minehead last week and it was fine, but we were on hardstanding.

Some sites are chalky and drain really quickly. We have our favourite local site that we can go to when all other sites are flooded and they are always fine. If the site say they drain well you should be fine :)

(We are off again next weekend!)

I have just booked South Cornwall for May, with all the problems they have had, I think it is important to support the local businesses there, people staying away will only make their situation worse.
