jobeyjo · 03/07/2006 11:23

oh and im staying at park resorts... for all your commments it sounds nice.

MrsRecycle · 03/07/2006 11:42

Silver bungalow - lucky you - they are nice. You are staying over the hill which is the quiet part - a bit of a walk to the entertainment complex but worth it for the views. Shame I'm not there this weekend - I could have popped round for a cuppa as the bungalows are just round the corner from me.

Oh and as for the weather - one of the attractions of Camber is the Camber sunshine every morning. Even if it's awful around the rest of England you always get sunshine in the morning there.

MrsRecycle · 03/07/2006 11:58

FioFio - I've never stayed at Romney Sands but know people who have. You get the same entertainment (Sparky etc) but not on the same scale. I do like New Romney though - tend to do all my shopping there. The beach isn't as nice (very pebbly) but location wise, you are near to the Steam Railway, Dymchurch, Port Lympe and a lovely pub called the Warren (look out for the big monkey in the garden). If it's PR though it should be okay.

Thank you for the info Mrs Recycle...

Do you know of anywhere local where my patner and i can hire bikes, do they do this on the site.

Jo - yes there is a place in Rye. You can pick up a card in reception. Shame we're not down there, you could have borrowed ours!

Fio - if you're thinking of buying one, let me know as I get money off my fees next year for recommendations. I can recommend you and you can get to stay really cheap (on the pretence of buying one). I think it was £35 a night the last time I looked.

The catch on the £4995 one - yes, when you ask them about it, they'll say it's already been sold and will try and sell you a more expensive one on which you purchase finance on it. One thing you will not see is a "Price" on any caravan for sale. If you are serious about buying, contact me and I'll gladly assist as I know all the sales-tricks in the book.

If you pop over to Hastings we could have a cup of tea, make sure you have a wander around Hastings Old Town it is delightful, especially at this time of year.

Don't bother walking along to the pier as you will find it closed because it has become unsafe but do go up in one of the cable cars to either the east or west hill the view is so pretty (West hill has the cafe at the top)

We went int he depth of spring at its coldest, the park was empty and we had an eight hour drive to get there and no, didn't enjoy it BUT the beach seemed lovely as was right on the site, Great yarmouth again seemed lovely and there were no specific issues with anything so I do wonder if it was us on a downer TBH. Probably REALLY nice on a summers week if you don't have the drive.

jobeyjo · 03/07/2006 15:04

It should be ok im going for two nites in august.. its only 1 & half hours away so thats not to bad to travel.... thanks for the info..

Got back from Park resorts Camber sands yesterday... I must say i was no overly impressed with the site atall. The entrance to the park looked nice but the rest of it was very dirty and tatty.. The whole site needed a good revamp.. I stayed in a Bungalow which was fithy dirty and very tatty..I had to get a cleaner in to scrub it!!.. The only good part was the beutiful beach.. deffo worth a look. I think ill sticj with the Haven sites.. much cleaner and more modern. Shame...

Dingle · 11/07/2006 09:32

We are off to Camber in August!!! Can't complain as it is a freebie for disabled children and their families!

Not sure of the site though, al I know is that it's Camber Sands Leisure Park,on the left past Pontins! Is it the Park resorts site?
I thought it might be easier to cope with Amelia in a chalet rather than a caravan! (fingers crossed)

jobeyjo · 11/07/2006 09:42

Yes thats camber sands 'Park resorts'.. its the next one along after Pontins... they are the only two sites in Camber sands.. I was disappointed with the site as i assumed it would be alot nicer.. I went to a Haven holiday park last year and it was so much nicer. I dont think ill be going back to park resorts again... Camber beach was fantastic, the kids will love it. Im just so glad i never stayed at Pontins..when i passed it, it looked like something from the 60's... I needed to be knocked down and rebuilt... Im sure you will have a fab time...

Dingle · 11/07/2006 10:19

I can honestly say it was such a shock to the system when I stayed at Pontins, Camber Sands. It was our first holiday after having DS. I could have cried- it felt like a army camp!LOL!!!

Never stayed at a Park Resort before. The last few years we have stayed in a Blakes cottage (lovely!!)but before that we seemed to stick with British Holiday sites, never had any problems.

Like the beach at Camber, we are only in Kent anyway so it's not too far to travel either.
I'll make sure I pack my marigolds and a bottle of bleach !

jobeyjo · 11/07/2006 10:27

Im sure you will all have a good time... enjoy your stay...
