Time to pack it in.

Well, sounds mad I guess, but you could all go for a swim in the sea. After all you are wet anyway so does rain really matter? If you have a pop up tent or something you could take it to the beach to shelter after swimming and if you have enough money for a cheap body board the children could take turns having a go at it.

That covers one day Grin - then maybe consider packing up. What is the forecast like for nearer where you live? You might find a site with space somewhere sunnier. It isn't raining in London where I am atm, for example - not that I suggest you camp in London, but the Home Counties perhaps?

Sorry to hear you weren't having a great time. We had a very wet camping trip a few years ago on a site with filthy toilets, our feet was constantly wet so I know it's no fun. I do pack according to the whether now. If it's going to be bad, then waterproof coats, umbrellas, hanging for coats to hang up without having to put them over back of chairs, fleece blankets to wrap up in if you're cold, indoor games, extra socks as they always seem to get soaked and even wellies. We have since camped during a met office weather warning for heavy rain and had great time playing games outside in our wellies and waterproof coats, spending an evening in a local pub and it really helped having plenty of clean hot showers and somewhere warm to change into my PJs at night. Hope the next trip is more successful!
