We're just back from a fun filled 4 days at Camp Bestival and I'm thinking about next year. We've now done CB for the last two years so I am wondering about giving Latitude or another a go. Does anyone have any suggestions. We're looking for somewhere kid friendly and safe.
By summer 2014 I will have a 4 year old and twin babies! Friends will be joining us with twin 4 year olds. thanks in advance :-)

I've been to Latitude twice, first in about 2008 and then again this year. We still loved it the second time, but it's become a lot bigger, less chilled out and more of a magnet for underage kids getting wrecked and being idiots. (Or maybe I'm just getting older!) There seemed to be fewer families or people in their late twenties or thirties, it seemed to be mostly teens and middle-aged folk.

It is really safe though and families are well catered for, and being near Southwold you can extend it into a longer seaside camping trip, which we will certainly do next time we go.

Never been to Bestival but considering it next year... maybe as well as Latitude, but will have to see how the money situation is!

If you're not too bothered about big names, you could consider Elderflower Fields near Lewes. We went this year and had a fantastic time. It is small, so good for young children and everything is close together. They do Sports and Arts camps for older and younger children and have an Arts and Crafts tent by the main stage which is great for entertaining children whilst still being able to hear bands and relax with wine (bar is near there too).

THe food was great and there is a little train going around the site and an adventure playground , although admittedly, that takes you away from the festival action.

We loved it and will be going back next year hopefully.
