Wasps!

We're new to camping & have bought all the gumpf possible bar a Cobb or cadac after reading the posts on mumsnet! It's only me, hubby & 6 year old kid. We tried it out in May & truly believed we were born to camp. However, our holiday in Somerset is just around the corner & just realised that I hate going into the back garden for fear of wasps & will now be in the open with the blighters... I don't mean a little fear - I am stupidly petrified. Does anyone have any tips to repel them or should I consign myself to sitting inside the tent with the mozzie nets at full mast?

My tip would be don't kill them- or if you do, move the dead ones away from your camping area. Apparently (don't know how true this is) when they are injured they release a hormone which calls to lots of other wasps

Not sure if any of these apply to wasps, but I'm going to try them and see ... these

We have found a 1/2 empty bottle of cider to be a fantastic wasp trap - position a few feet away from area where you sit....medium got more than dry Grin discovered by accident a couple of years ago.... also make sure any rubbish bag etc away as well -

I got one of those bug zapper things that looks like a tennis racket but has an electrical impulse. £2.99 from bargain type shop (b&m maybe?). Its rubbish for flies. However, just discovered it's fab for wasps. Def coming away with us!
