What to buy for cooking in a camper?

Right, I'm bored of 2 ring cooking, there's only so much pasta I can make and when it's raining the BBQ is hardly ideal! So what can I buy to extend my repertoire? I've so far considered a halogen oven (mixed reviews); cobb (I'm put off both by the cost and confusing accessories, plus I read on here that apparently the non stick releases nasties; cadac (again expensive and looks complicated) and a remoska (can I cook pizza in one?). Any other suggestions, or reviews of the above?

We never camp without ehu so don't need it to run on gas, and as we have a camper space isn't really an issue Smile

Thanks Smile

I've got a remoska which is my ultimate best buy. It will cook pizza but its operating temperature is around 180 so you may prefer to use the rack. Mine's the biggest size so it will take a pizza easily.

I use the remoska for everything now. I bought a big piece of beef from the reduced shelf and it cooked it perfectly with roast veg around it. It'll do a full breakfast and the best paella you've tasted. Grin. It heats up ready meals really well and I've even made scones in it.

The problem is that the lid is heavy and hot and you need somewhere to put it safely.

I've got a halogen oven too. Grills bacon brilliantly but I wouldn't rush to replace it.

I'm hankering after a cobb although I don't need one. We're staying somewhere off electric soon and I think it justifies a new gadget

I've just ordered a Cadac, they're on offer at Go Outdoors. Grin

Thanks though Smile

I've got a cadac as well Blush

Very happy with it

Which one have you got? We went for the Safari. Now I just need to decide what accessories I need want Wink. I'm thinking the roasting pan, plus some way of cooking pizza - am I right in thinking the Cadac stone is too big? Do you think one of those trays with holes would work or would it be impossible to get out? Any other tips?

I've got the safari chef as well. I don't use it to its full potential I'm afraid so I'm not going to be much help. We just use it as a BBQ and remoska everything else.

I suspect if we were off electric I'd experiment more with the cadac.

CADAC always. I don't have one yet, but grew up with them in SA. They are great. Really, real,y versatile
