Camping in France - tips for keeping my toddler cool please?

Hello
We've booked a camping trip to France next week, and looking at the forecast, temperatures may reach 30 degrees.
Beginning to get a bit worried now about my two year ... will it be okay? Wondering if we shouldn't take a fan and hook it up to the electricity? We'll be in our own tent.

Whereabouts are you going?

Just make sure you stay in the shade from about 12 onwards, to about 5-6pm (France is 2hours ahead of "sun" time so you can still burn at 5pm).

I wouldn't bother with a fan.

We are going to a hot place (camping too) and will be going to the beach from 9.30 to 11.30, then back to the campsite until late afternoon, and then back out again.

When in the south of France last year in Aug, we had to go and buy a fan as it was unbelievably hot.
I recommend either buying or borrowing one there if you can't pack one. Our clothes were wet with sweat nearly every evening. Confused

We're going to an island off the Atlantic Coast. My main worry is being too hot in the tent for afternoon nap.

Will your toddler nap in a pram? Maybe find an aairconditioned cafe in the afternoons for their nap?

Could you bring an awning or tarp of some sort to put up for your 2 year old to nap under (and you to sit drinking wine under)? Or one of those little pop up tents for the beach with the silver lining. They are very good at staying cool.

Hmm, I wouldn't be optimistic about a 2 year old napping in a tent during the afternoon anyway, no matter the weather, tbh. I thought that overtired hyper children were all part of the charm of camping?

(Not meaning to be horrid there, just a veteran of lots of camping holidays! Maybe not all chidlren react to camping like mine do)
