Bell tent for a family of five. Too much of a squeeze?

I've got a thread running about what to upgrade our old Outwell to, with an initial plan of either a Vango 5/7 man or another Outwell, since DH squashed my original plan to get a bell tent.

However he has just announced that he's open to convincing about a bell tent, but all the information online says 'oh, the 5m one is perfect for me and our one tiny DC and a miniature poodle' or similar, and I'm wondering what it will actually be like with a family of five (two adults, DS1 age 5 and DS2 age 2, and usually a hanger on of either another kid between 4-8 or another adult, never the two together, so five people in total quite often). Is it just going to be too squished?

Realistically we're talking, one way or another, about one double airbed and three singles (the DSs won't share a double, but their two singles can be next to one another Hmm), and I am determined that we would have a 1/4 pod inside it for the kids to sleep in, as I quite often like hanging out in the tent in the evening instead of outside, and I want to be able to do that without waking them.

What do you think? Too cramped?

This is what pushed us towards the Kampa Studland when we replaced our tent this year. Just thought it would be a hit cramped. There are 5 of us all of the time and the kids go to sleep far better if they are separated.

We're a family of 6 (kids aged 7-11) and a dog, our 5m bell tent never feels cramped but our setup doesn't involve airbeds or inners.

Our SIMs stack when not in use to make a sort of daybed area so the rest of the tent is clear, airbeds might be too high to do this, beds everywhere!
We don't use an inner because it would break up the space too much. Dim lighting and keeping low voices mean the kids sleep fine when we're chilling out inside the tent in an evening (thin tent walls aren't soundproof anyway and my kids sleep like they're comatose when camping.)

Oh god, I have just come across the emperor bell tents. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed one. Probably not possible to pitch single handed though.

we have a 5m bell tent for 5 of us.....me, dh, kids age 7-13years.

we have a massive airbed, and the kids a double and a single inflatable sponge mattress thingies. space wise, its perfect.

I think that an inner would spoil the feel of the tent....it is lovely to have it so open.

we are at the stage now though of eldest child bringing a mate with him, who will not want to watch me getting dressed/undressed/snoring etc (!) so we will probably be taking a small pop up tent next time for them to sleep in for privacy rather than space reasons.
