Wickerman Festival advice

Anyone going or been to the Wickerman festival? We were thinking of going and have ds 8 dd 5. Is this festival suitable for that age group?
Considering maybe a pop up family tent, think our regular tent too much hassle for a weekend.
Any advice appreciated

We went last year, I personally thought there wasn't a massive amount for the kids to do considering it's marketed as a child-friendly festival (circus skills/storytelling/limited craft activities and a few other bits and bobs plus expensive funfair) but they found things to occupy themselves and had a great time all the same.

Atmosphere was nice and chilled, it was our first festival so we waaaay overpacked but still managed to lug everything the short distance without too much trouble.

Thanks NonnyMuss.
feeling really indecisive about going- could work out an expensive weekend that the kids don't enjoy.
Did they have plenty places to eat? I've got a stove but don't want to bring loads of stuff.
We've never been to a festival but think we'd love the buzz and the music..

Plenty of places to eat (chippy vans and other kiosks), not mega-expensive prices for a captive audience place IYSWIM. We took a stove and pasta/hotdogs/basic food and mostly made our own food, but we're 2 adults & 4 children so we usually do that anyway to save money.

As a first festival we found it pretty good, nice small scale so reasonable walking distances and nothing particularly inappropriate going on (apart from a few choice words from the stage during the Bad Manners set but that's par for the course Grin ), it was an experience for sure!

If you're nearby, definitely go for it at some point, we probably won't be doing festivals until ours are a bit older but they did have a great time and it was definitely worth doing once and they still talk about it often.

We're in Edinburgh so quite accessible.
Do think my kids would enjoy the experience and DH def would.
Feel like a trip to Decathlon, our tent is too big for a weekend trip.
Thanks for the info.x
