PGP (SPD) sleeping solutions please

We camped bank holiday weekend and I slept on an airbed. By the morning my hips were very very achy. Now if I were pg I would just refuse to camp again this year. Unfortunately the 'baby' is two on Friday, so I guess the pelvic pain is here to stay.

So tell me - what's the most comfortable thing you've ever slept on inside your tent? TIA

DH and I have a single air bed each, so that we don't disturb each other. Make sure the air bed is very well inflated, place a folded fleecy blanket under your sleeping bag for extra padding.

The other thing I have taught myself to do is to sleep with my legs on top of each other (ifswim), so that I'm not twisting my spine. Or try a pillow underneath your top leg.

I've been seeing a chiropractor for the past year, and tbh that has been the only thing which has sorted my body out Smile

Thanks soaccidentprone I never share an airbed :-) but a few blankets sound like a good idea.

I have a nasty feeling that I'll be spending a few nights at home testing potential sleeping arrangements...

Quilt and air bed

Aerobed topped with thick self inflating mat is about as comfy as I have got in a tent.

OK, so I had spd, dd now 3 and hips still not quite the same as pre dd. After one hellish camp trip I did some research and shelled out for a thermarest basecamp (cost 99 quid Shock)..... But they are as good as sleeping on a bed. Since then we have had several 2 week camping trips, so it was worth it (would have been impossible without). I think Airic also do very think sims (called dozers?) so might be worth checking them....

Thanks everyone. I am going to spend the next 6 weeks convincing DH that I need a self inflating mat, but not just any self inflating mat a really expensive one :)

Airic Dozer It is cheaper than 4 nights in a nearby B&B. To place it on the airbed or go for it straight on the groundsheet? I'll try both and see which night I can walk better after.

I am inclined to get very sore hips from camping. I find a bit of heat helps, a pashmina wrapped around my hips is good or a hot water bottle. Apparently it's to do with being a side sleeper, someone older told me of traditionally digging a hole for your hip before setting up your sleeping kit. I guess this one worked better in the days before SIGs! I'm working on the front or back sleeping too.

You need one of these:

Or you can simply buy the Thermarest dreamtime cover separately (the memory foam bit) to go over an existing mat.

Mmme... are you 'handy' (sewing wise?). You can get memory foam mattress toppers see here and then you could fashion a cover thingy to go around that and a sim (like the dozer, or even a more basic lidl one) and there you go...dreamtime! diy
