My dd who is almost 11yrs old is desperate to go but im in 2 minds, sending her away on her own is a bit scary. My 8 yr old also wants to go,i think it would be nice for her to be with her sister but she can be clingy and might drive her big sis nuts.Any tips/advice welcome, thanks

No experience of Camp Beaumont, but my dd1 (now age 10) has been going to a similar summer activity camp since she was 8 and has loved it. Check whether they separate the kids into groups according to age I would suspect they do which means that your younger dd would have her older sister around, but not be able to cling to her all the time. It's a fantastic experience for them, and really confidence-giving. Ds can't wait to go next year, once he's 8.

I once got offered a job with them but went to work at Butlins instead, I felt they were giving me too much responsibility considering my age and lack of experience. It was with the preschool day campers. I am sure I have read quite detailed reveiws online somewhere. I will see what I can find.

Grin I just found the force feeding frogs a bit scary!

I was a bit worried by the fact the were happy to have a 19 yr old straight out of college (ie ME) run the nursery day camp, in charge of staff and orgainising all their activities all over the site. I must have really impressed them at the interveiw. I thought I would end up with kitchen hand or housekeeping assistant Grin.

But Skribble, frogs are the basis of a good varied dietGrin
DD has decided to go isle of wight, little sister not leaving my sight she will have to go to her day play schemes,im sure she would expect me to collect her as soon as she got homesick otherwise

Maybe for some. Mind you my DD went to a dance summer school last year and loved it. It terrified me, hundreds (well maybe 50) little pink things running about, give me frogs any day. Only the oldest classes stay over at the teachers houses for the week.

they do residential dance schools in brighton, they look interesting but expensive

DD loved going, she is only six but it his regular school, and the older kids look after the youbger ones and help out in the little ones classes and shows. She is already asking about it for this year, it did seem quite pricey but she got a lot out of it.
