Just had a fab weekend here cotswoldfarmpark.co.uk/camping/. I'm not the best camper but DH and DS love it. I think having got a new tent helped.

How old is your DS?

Would 6 & 8 year olds enjoy it?

Is there a park in the campsite / in the farm park itself that they can access at all times?

And most importantly... do you get woken by noisy cockerels? Grin

Sorry, sounds a bit mad - looks really good... just a flood of questions came to mind after our last farm camping trip!

I was there earlier this year with DCs aged 5 and 6 they loved it, especially feeding the goats in adjoining field. The farm park itself has specific opening hours so no, there isn't access all the time, but once you've paid to get in once you can go in and out throughout your stay. There isn't a play park on the camping field itself but when we were there we had plenty of space or ball games etc.
Don't remember being woken up by noisy creatures of any type!

Ds is 6. It was surprisingly quiet. Also there was a little play area in the woods next to the camp site.

Is that Adam's Farm from Countryfile?

dancingintherain · 08/08/2012 17:31

Oh yes

I agree. I took my 7 and 5 year olds at Easter for 2 nights. It was freezing, and I didn't quite get the hang of keeping the new Frontier stove going all night, but it was so much fun and the kids loved it.

Yes, I can imagine it being cold, the farm park is right up on the hills.

The wildlife park lower down is far more sheltered and also a great day out with DDs. Nice play area and a huge picnic lawn by it. Lovely plants in the walled gardens.

When we went in the spring the banana plants were all wrapped up in sacking and had little sleeping banana signs. My DDs thought it was very funny. I like it best in high summer with all the cannas flowering.

Oh and there are zebras, penguins, monkeys and rhinos to see.

Thanks everyone. They're fully booked for Aug BH, might try for next year. :)

We live just down the road. It's a lovely place. Haven't camped but friends have and loved it!
It does get very windy on top of the hill, defiantly take more layers than you'd think!
The park is fab, especially if you don't have access to lots of animals all the time! Hope you get there x
