Campingaz Stove question

LittleEsmeWeatherwax · 26/07/2012 13:40

We've bought one - the double burner with grill.

Camping for 5 days in France soon - what gas canister do we need, and what size?

Thanks!

I think we have the same stove. Are you using calor gas? Smallest one should be fine for 5 days. We had the 3.9kg propane for 2 weeks and didn't run out.

They don't sell calor gas in France though so you need to make sure you have enough!

It will say in the instructions.

If it's the same as ours it's the 907 canister

That's the one - thanks Yellow Smile

Go Outdoors is usually the cheapest.

We have one of those stoves that's 14 years old, and hasn't changed much. We've got it hooked up to the 2.2kg Campinggaz Cylinder (the R904 I think, or maybe R907, can't remember. I know the cylinders last quite a while, we were surprised.

Thanks Gardener - that's good to know.

I don't think the size of the canister matters, it's the connection and gas type. Camping gaz is the safest and sold all over Europe, and by the sound of it is what your cooker runs on. When your canister is empty you swap it for a new one, and only pay for the gas inside. Can do this at virtually any campsite in Europe.
