Will the bell tent ever dry out?

We took our new Soulpad 4m bell tent to a festival at the weekend and it chucked it down. We had to pack it wet.

Now we've put it up in the garden (it literally takes up the entire garden, we live in London) and it just continues to keep raining.

I don't really want the tent to be a permanent fixture in the garden. WHEN IS IT GOING TO STOP RAINING, PEOPLE?

I think we have another 3 weeks (at least) of unsettled weather. I'm just hoping mid Aug is going to be ok, as we're off to Kent

Same problem here. Dh got fed up of it been in the garden and ordered me to take it down last weekend. Got it down while it was just damp rather than soaked. It's now draped over the entire dining room still drying. I'm concerned that the cats may use it as a scratching post.

Oh and mid august will be fine. This is because due to the last 5 years of camping in rain in mid august I decided to bring my main holiday forward to the first week in august as its often drier then. So this year it will piss it down in the first week of august and be hot and sunny after that.

Bring it indoors to dry off and drape over banister or in spare room? I don't think you will ever get it dry otherwise. We always dry indoors, unless you get really hot day you'll never get it 100 % dry otherwise, the base of the tents going to need to be dried properly anyway.

I think I may have to do some draping all over the furniture / bannister and hope for the best. The groundsheet unzips and we're going to need to find a method! [don't tell the bell tent fans but this is making me want to get one of those nylon tents if we have to do this every time!!]

you must get it dry or it will go mouldy.

But it will not hold its shape correctly. It will re-shape the panels if you can put it outdoors again when you think there will be some dew (to dampen it) followed by a good dry day to stretch against the guys.

PigletJohn Can't you just wait until your next camping trip to re-shape the panels?

Any reason why a bell tent can't be made of creamy coloured ripstop nylon with 6000mm hydrostatic head and all the other bells and whistles

We got our new Outwell packed up on Monday,during a dry patch,mostly dry but not totally.
We'd been camping near Corfe since Thursday which was a lovely sunny day.

if it's all creased and wrinkly, I think that rain will come through.

Anyway, it would be like putting an un-ironed shirt in the wardrobe

I actually saw a bell tent made of nylon whilst we were away camping. It looked awful

Sorry OP, every time I go off camping I get out my solar charger, position it in the sun to catch the rays and it rains...Tried it last week on a work day on my bike - got soaked!

ha hillbilly! Not quite... we brought it in, it did dry out and we took it away again on another trip.

I have horrid nylon tent and it has spent most of the summer 'drying out' over my banisters....you think it's dry when you pack it away...get it home and find out it's not....
