looking out my window its peeing down and all i can imagine is cold and wet and my tent blowing away and DS coughing and spluttering. Dh is an anti camper and all the enthusiasm comes from me. I was looking at icey tek cool boxes and arctic sleeping bags reading review after review about sites around yorkshire then i did the unthinkable.... i booked a lodge Shock, with a hot tub ShockShock. What am i going to do? Dh thinks its hillarious and that we should just call it a day and sell the tent Sad btu part of me though i wouldnt admit it agrees. I need a guaranteed sunny weekend away with my tent to renew the love. Or am im just turning into a soft wuss?

We've put our lovely Outwell neatly in a large cupboard, ready for when the DC have children of their own (!) and won't be able to afford a cottage holiday!

Gosh really thats pretty drastic - think id rather try and sell it whilst worth something or maybe pack it away till the dc are older and more hardcore. We podded a few times last year instead of getting the tent out so it wil be its 2nd year unused so i was quite determined to do a longer week this year.

We thought that we wouldn't get anywhere near what we think it is worth and that the DC would need it eventually - they're not using it for Glastonbury though!

True enough, your right its worth more to me, at least i know if were ever truly on our uppers we have the kit for an emergency holiday.

Tents are good for sleepovers in the garden. Keep the noisy rabble out Grin

Lodge with hot tub. Where is that? Sounds good to me.

Goosewood Park in York, its actually a Mon to fri but was only £350 so i am well pleased - a hot tub in the rain Grin. We have stayed on the site in a tourer before and its a lovely site - no riff raff Grin.

I hadn't thought of looking into that. There must be other places like that a big closer to home. Thanks.

I'll have a look. I thought they only did boating holidays. One of DH's dreams for when thd kids are older. Definitely not in this weather, though.

I've had a cheap lodge holiday in a lovely little park in Dorset. I think I might do something similar again.

FootballFriendSays · 10/07/2012 22:43

We've never got to holidays without a holiday booked. A bit skint this year so considering UK holidays.
