Camping table help please!

We have finally admitted defeat with our deckchair/table makeshift arrangement!

We have narrowed it down to the Hi Gear Elite or the Easycamp Paris. The Easycamp is an aluminium fixed table and chairs set and the Hi Gear has 2 benches and stools. Do any of you have experience of either? Or would you recommend anything else?

Thank you for your help!

I tried the easycamp at a camping show recently and found it to be much sturdier than similar models you can get which IME break easily or are very unstable when adults get on/off.

I have this on order from Tesco although it says it is currently unavailable. No idea yeat of the quality but was worth a punt at that price, plus I like the idea of stools not being fixed to the table, I feel it's more versatile.

I was going to order that table from tesco too professor but the reviews of the table alone (which I presume is the same) were not the best. And given that this is to replace our shite camping stuff that we bought on the cheap when we started I decided to leave it. Please let me know if it arrives and is good though!

Well, it has arrived and I've set it up. The table seems ok for having dinner, using as a general table etc. It wouldn't stand up to a huge amount of weight- I wouldn't lean on it for example to get up. I like the fact it has 2 levels and there are extra stabalizing bars, plus it would be easy to store and access other camp items underneath if you were using it as a console table.

The stools have smaller seats than I thought, my bum fits ok and they are fine for children but I wouldn't want to sit on them longer than for eating dinner. We are a family of 5 anyway so someone was always going to have to use their comfy chairs. But again I like the versatility- they made a good footstool when I was sat in my camping chair.

It is fairly light and the design for packing away is well thought out- possibly a bit fiddly with velcro straps to get the stools in places but I like the way it all packs in. It does pack down small in comparison to other tables which is another priority for use.

So I think it's a keeper at that price (£17) but I wouldn't have wanted to pay full price for it and I agree that if you wanted to buy something more for keeps this probably isn't it.

We went crazy and went for the Hi Gear Elite. Dh is less keen on camping than
I am, and is very keen on buying once so we decided to go for the bigger one and, at that price, he is insisting that we will still be eating off it in our 60s Grin
