Ambient tent lighting

Have been searching for ages for the correct tent lighting.

We will have EHU.

I do not want 10000LED spots, or headtorches.

I do not want GAS (too scared of fire- but lovely light, I know!).

I would like soft-yellow-yet-bright-enough-to-play-cards type lighting.

I would do fairylights if they were not so wanky- plus DP would do Hmm face. Plus probably not bright enough.

No tealight chandeliers.

Any recommends?

I could just burn the tent down

I've got no idea if this will be bright enough, but I saw this the other day and thought it might be worth a try.

Oh, I wasant expecting that Sal! Interesting! But... I'd have to buy a headtorch!

And I dont think it would be bright enough.

Sadly my best tent lighting was a plastic cylinder night garden lamp, then the bulb ran out. Sigh.

Grin Ah, it wouldn't have won any style prizes, so maybe just as well!

I'm sure someone with clever ideas will be along soon!

I just want not to sit in cold dead kebab shop lit tent. I want chilled out ambience.

I think bright coloured fairylights might be the way to go?

Sun Jars?

Never used them myself so I don't know if they'd shed enough light.

Powerbee "endurance" fairy lights give a pretty strong light and when we string them around our tarp they give a decent light to read by while sitting out.

We've also got these which we charge up at home (don't really like EHU), they don't shed much light at all but are v. chilled out n' ambient.

We take our little bedside light if we have EHU, not ideal because it's glass but casts a lovely yellowy glow instead of a horrible white glare. It's Ikea cheap and cheerful, kept meaning to buy something similar but unbreakable but we plucked up the courage to buy a gas light instead.

I have a sunjar. Its like a glow worm in a jar... pfff.

Will check out the powerbee lights, and love the look of the mathmos light Lovecat! Thanks.

I have that light Nonny! Maybe I'll go to Ikea and look for a lamp then...

Ah if you have that one just use it!
Apart from being glass it's ideal, just the right amount of light, small, doesn't get too hot and can hang up rather than taking up flat space on a table. Just have to pack it carefully that's all :)

Pics in profile are my bell tent with it hooked onto the central pole shameless excuse to show off my beeeeautiful tent :o

We currently have this hanging above me and it gives a good light. Has a handy clip and a good length of wire too.
