Questions re: taking a 5mo camping for one night

Planning on going over to the Lake District on the BH weekend, where my parents will be camping for 4 nights. We will be visiting an Animal Park with them on the Saturday, then might camp one night with them. They have a big enough tent, so DH, DD and I will all fit in one little compartment, but I have a few q's.

(1) What does DD need to sleep in? If it's really cold we wont stay, but even in this 'balmy' weather, do I need to pile her up with blankets?

(2) Physically, where will she sleep? We don't co-sleep and the thought of doing it for the first time in a tent on a airbed is scary. But I don't know where to put her Grin
(3) What do you do with them in the evenings? At home she's in bed by 6.30pm, but I imagine I wouldn't be able to do that in a tent? We'll be sat up having a drink and a bit of dinner, should I let her just sleep on my lap or will she be OK in the tent on her own?
(4) We FF, so I was planning on getting cartons of FM rather than boiling the kettle and taking powder. But then sterilising?? One night is not long enough to cart a tonn of stuff with us.

She still wakes 1/2 times in the night, and Im mainly worried about keeping my parents awake OR not being able to settle her yet being 2 1/2 hrs from home.

At the moment, it looks easier NOT to go, but as we are big camping fans, part of me sees this as the perfect opportunity to test the water with it.

It'll be fine Grin take plenty of layers for DD for the night time - it can get surprisingly cold at night, even with nice weather such as this. Could you sort of fill the tent bedroom with airbed and all sleep together? I think she would be fine in with you. Sterilising - what about a good boil in a pan of water? Her bedtime routine will go out the window. We found it useful to take either a highchair or bouncy chair when DD2 was very little, just to trap her. Take a blanket and some toys and she can have a roll around whilst you drink supervise. I always find the fresh air knocks mine out so even if they woke in the night, it was very easy to get them back off again.
Have a great time

Great, thanks for the advice. We'll be travelling onto another little (hotel) holiday afterwards so sort of want to take as least amount of stuff as possible, but the Bouncer chair may well have to get tucked into the car somewhere.

A late night might mean she sleeps through! (She has on and off for a while but had a bit of a regression of late)

DD went loads last year.
The trick was to start layering up early once the evening gets chilly - she wore vest, tights, cotton sleep suit, fleece sleep suit and gro bag to sleep in; she goes to bed around 10pm. On cold April nights she needed a wooly hat and another top...but not in the summer. We sleep on mats and she was in between DH and me. DH is the tent heater.
All the fresh air etc meant that for months she only slept through when camping; at home she woke us up to complain about her teeth.
If it's only 1 night can you get disposable pre-sterilised bottles? (disclaimer: not an area I have any expertise in so may well be talking rubbish).
All my dc eat loads when camping.

Thankfully she loves being outside, so she may well flourish Grin

What are people's thoughts on these? Worth it or not?

I have a baby buffalo all in one, so if it is too cold, she may well be ok to sleep in that.

take layers, the temp drops dramatically at 4 am no matter how hot a week it is

then it gets very hot between 5 and 6 when the sun starts to rise and the tent turns into a green house - so peel off then if you want a few extra hours shut-eye

we took the removable mattress from DSs travel cot (no the whole travel cot) - remember more layers underneath than on top as most cold comes up from the ground!!

we kept him up till he was sleepy - one night isn't gonna throw the home routine out! DS went to sleep in buggy first then transferred into tent

you can get single use disposable sterile bottles in boots

Great, didn't think about the travel cot mattress. We're going onto a Hotel afterwards and will have a travel cot there, but I can put our mattress ontop too, if theirs is poor.

I am happy to 'de-routine' DD for a few days (camping and hotel) as she is such a good sleeper that tbh a few days out of kilter wont do much harm.

Im sure i've seen in Asda, ready filled little bottles, use onece, allreday have milk in, and throw.
