Sleeping solution for awkward 2yo!

Camping over the Jubilee weekend with our 2 DD. OUr youngest tricky customer wont sleep with a duvet on (infact the last month or so she has removed her PJs as well and it's not warm!!)

Am v concerned about her getting cold. We are taking a inflatable holiday bed but she will need lots of cover. Any recommendations for sleeping bags for little ones?

Not sure why she wont put up with a duvet at home and can't see she'll like a sleeping bag either but am so worried she will get too cold. She doesn't seem to care!

Thanks in advance.

I'd invest in a one-piece pyjama (like you can get from the Next catalogue) so that feet stay warm. Then, I'd buy a fleecy all in one to pop over the PJ's so that you can guarantee some coverage should she kick off the covering whilst you're all asleep.

We bought this in purple and pink for DD when she was 2 and she loved it. She was always one for taking off everything, but for some reason she was completely taken by the sleeping bag. It's great as it has a zip off section to make it bigger or smaller for them. She still loves it even now two years on!

Yes to the fleecy all in one jamas, and also make sure she is very well insulated underneath by putting a duvet over the airbed for her to lie on. You may have to recover her is she shimmies around in the night so its worth having her nearby, within sleepy reaching distance.
With any luck she'll be so zonked she'll sleep without moving about much. Grin

Layers are good. DS wears a vest, an all-in-one sleepsuit (with the built in mitts so his hands are warm), a fleece hoodie and a 2.5 tog grobag, with a fleece blanket thrown over for good measure. The blanket usually comes off, but he is warm in the rest of it. We also put a fleece blanket over the base of the travel cot he sleeps in.

Enjoy your trip.

take a hat! I put one on ds once he was asleep as otherwise would take it off... if you can get thermals -primark often have them , m&s have online usually even if not in shop.. put them on under pjs - keeps core temperature up... hth

What about this one: www.next.co.uk/x49900s2?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_search&utm_campaign=googleps#819008x49

Or is that too expensive?

MummyPigsFatTummy · 24/05/2012 09:15

I love these (hood for extra warmth!) but they only go up to 18-24 months. Dd is still wearing hers at 2.6 but we can't use the hand and feet flaps any more: www.trespass.co.uk/kids-booboo-00764

Thanks mummypig - the next one looked ideal but not on sale anymore. Didn't think to have a look on amazon so thanks for reminding me of that. The trespass ones prob no good. Mine DDs are almost 5 and 2 and my 2 year old is a big 2 year old! Thanks for links though Smile

MummyPigsFatTummy · 24/05/2012 10:25

Sorry bobkate - I didn't check the Next link properly. The Amazon ones appear to still be on sale though. It's always a problem getting warm stuff at this time of year. Noone ever thinks of the campers!!!
