i fancy pancakes for breakfast, it's got to be easy to do them while camping, i figure. or i could just buy one of the instant packs but they always seem so depressing.

I know someone mentioned one earlier but here's a link to a Blender Bottle I think they would be really good for mixing up pancake batter and you could pour it straight out into the pan.

Or you could use a well-washed lenor bottle - the neck is big enough for the eggs and you just add everything and shake.

Aitch. Use a bowl, and a spoon.
That is the traditional way.
And camping friendly.

will it mix well enough, blu? i tend to use the stick blender at home.

Balloon whisk. You can get mini ones that would fit nicely in your cutlery roll :o

DD loves that Nigella recipe - have never made them whilst camping, though. I find without the melted butter they stick horribly to the griddle plate, but then again I've never tried making them in a pan.

I make pancakes every morning and just use a bowl and a fork. Don't measure/weigh anything. Put some plain flour in a bowl, crack in an egg, slosh in some milk and whisk with the fork.

I have to admit that we take the Betty Crocker "mix" when we go camping all the time. You just have to add water - so don't need to keep eggs and milk refrigerated. It isn't too depressing once you're there - because you are still making them in the outdoors and it's easy to do and for the kids to help - so you actually do it. It's still great fun eating them, sitting on an old log or a camp chair - around a camping stove. (I wouldn't make them at home).

I add milk to the Betty Crocker mix when we camp although my friend had made a batch of mix at home and stored it in a big screw top jar which is just as easy I expect

Shakey shakey mix is fine. We make pancakes a lot at home (the normal way), but when you're huddled under a dripping awning in torrential rain for day 4 or 5 of your very wet camping holiday, some just-add-water pancakes are soooo much easier and cheer everyone up a treat.

We had the shaker in Kbear's link back in the 70s!! It was indeed our pancake mixture shaker!!

I have just realised that I could take some ready made frozen Aunt Bessie pancakes in the Icey Tek!
