Having just received my icey-tek, I'm not sure if I can allow myself anything else Grin...but...

I would like a more efficient stove. Last year I bought a mini cadac but it's a bit crap. Someone linked to a folding double burner so I am looking for the best deal at the moment.

If I get a new stove, then I'd also like some pans.

I'm sure I had a list but I can't think of anything else that was on it.

MrsMc82 · 04/04/2012 22:32

Well I got a new tent. And it massive so am worried about not having enough space in the car for everything so anything space saving is on my list......I just decided that I need some compact towels so found and ordered these from ebay .....
And then I usually want to order any other nifty gadgets that anyone links to....

ENormaSnob · 04/04/2012 22:33

What tent did you get mrsmc?

mogs0 · 04/04/2012 22:45

No, no electric option.

I have remembered some more of my list

Windbreak poles to make a windbreak with the metres of fabric I bought last year!

Telescopic poles so that I can put my awning up properly.

happyhorse · 05/04/2012 07:42

I need two of those big sleeping pod sleeping bags.

VillaEphrussi · 05/04/2012 09:00

Where do you get windbreak poles, out of interest, mogs?

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 05/04/2012 09:05

New chairs!

I want super duper comfy ones, not the cheap ones we've had for the last couple of years! I'm getting old, I need my comfortBlush

We just bought a plastic mini shed thingy to stick in the garage for all our camping gear too. Ds1 has claimed the spare room for himself so camping gear has been relegated to the garage!

dlady · 05/04/2012 09:05

I bought an electric cool box from Go Outdoors, £55. Haven't used it yet though., but it's Outwell supposed to be one of the top brands in all things camping. We absolutely don't need any more gear although hubby is mumbling about a trailer.

AngryFeet · 05/04/2012 09:18

An EHU and two self inflating mats for the kids. I think we went through 3 inflatable mattresses for each of them in the last 18 months - and those weren't cheap ones! False economy clearly.

Quenegge · 05/04/2012 11:10

Well, DH says we don't need anything else but how could that possibly be true? We always need more camping stuff.

I don't know what though, anything that folds up or becomes something else really, I love camping things that become something else.

ENormaSnob · 05/04/2012 13:14

Thinking of buying mini kettle and toaster as well. Thinking it may be easier if we are taking ehu to France anyway.

Windbreak
Heater of some sort.
Maybe a bedroom compartment for the bell tent

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2012 16:43

And I want this oven but don't think it's for sale in the uk.

hillbilly · 05/04/2012 17:06

Windbreak. Have already bought new camping table and lovely pod sleeping bag. Ahem, just need some decent weather now......

moomintash · 05/04/2012 19:55

2 more Self Inflating mats. Bought 2 for the boys as they're growing out of their Readybeds, but will be keeping them for me and hubby! They are much better than the blow up as everytime I get up for a pee hubby goes flying!

harrietlichman · 05/04/2012 19:58

A tent carpet! Wanted one for ages and splashed out (it arrived just in time as we are camping tomorrow!) A dutch oven and tripod, and new comfy chairs to replace our uncomfy old ones.

moomintash · 05/04/2012 20:07

VivaLeBeaver- I've just ordered the Bijou quarter Inner(1 room) from soulpad for our 5 mtr Karma Canvas Belltent. If it fits properly think I'll sell the half inner(2 rooms) from Belltent. We decided although the kids sleep better in an inner we liked being next to the woodstove.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2012 20:28

Moomintash - its the quarter one I'm eyeing up as its only me and dd in the tent so we only need the little one. Does the inner make a difference to warmth? I haven't got a woodstove yet, am pricing up options.

moomintash · 05/04/2012 21:06

I didn't notice any difference in warmth, but we did have the stove on till late and I kick hubby out of bed early to get it fired up! I've read on other camping forums that some people find it warmer. We also have the zipped in groundsheet so it's not drafty anyway. We got the cheap frontier stove from ebay and find it excellent for the price. I'm sure some of the more expensive ones are good too but we're Scottish tightwads!

moomintash · 05/04/2012 21:11

ENormaSnob- I would def recommend the Gelert Adventure XL 10cm SIM from Campmania for £44.99 if you are a car camper like us. Nice and thick.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2012 21:31

Moomintash, you are the person I need to speak to. I've looked at the frontier stove and it looks good, cheap and folds up small. I've got the soulpad with the pre cut hole/flu flap - do you know if the flue will fit through this ok?

What else if anything did you need to buy? Back plates, baffles, flue kits, witches hat? I find it all so confusing.

moomintash · 05/04/2012 22:08

It goes through the roof. I cut the hole myself and fitted the flashing kit(£35ish) from camping solutions.co.uk
No backplate needed as it sits quite far from tent wall due to tripod legs. We just put two coir mats underneath encase any hot bits try and melt the groundsheet(none so far) Baffle is in first section of the flue, if I remember correctly we ordered two extra bits of flue as I wanted it to be quite high. I only used 1 extra piece for a 5 mtr tent.(I could post you our spare if you decide to get one) I got a witches hat from ebay and fitted the wire mesh from cheap bird feeder as a spark arrestor. If you decide it's what you might go for I can try and find the bloke i ordered off. We also decided to stabilise the flue with some chain and guys also.
I think your prob could be the position of the hole,I think the frontier may sit a bit further out from than the blaze(from soulpad) If the frontier is too near the wall the flue section may be too short before it hits the canvas, it need to cut through the canvas higher than the first section of flue as the baffle joins the first and second section.
Hope some of the waffling makes sense, any more questions please ask away. It is confusing at first but really easy to set up once you have done it once.
p.s. remember a smoke/co2 monitor and a fire extin. if you do get a stove, just encase.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2012 22:11

I suppose I could always cut another hole in the tent and not use the pre cut one. Is cutting the hole easy?

I haven't even put the tent up yet so not seen the pre cut hole. Only got the genie tent as it was on offer and the same price as the non genie.

VivaLeBeaver · 05/04/2012 22:12

How far in did you need o cut your hole, can you remember?
