Can you put enamel cookware on an open fire? I have a Sainsbo enamelled pot, which I lurve, and I would like to take it camping for use on an open fire but I dont know if its possible to do so....

I would take some precautions....like smothering the bottom with fairly liqued to make it easy to clean (didya know that, didya, didya?) but I dont know if I can put it direct onto coals.

What do you think?

I also have a non enamel one, but its too small for what I want to do with it.

I wouldn't do it. In my camping days I used to take cheap, old pans for cooking on a gas stove.

I'm not sure I'd risk it with my beloved (and longed for ;) ) Le Creuset though...... Could you get another Sainsbos one that's just for your camping kit then it doesn't matter if it gets grotty??

Love the fairy liquid tip tho cheers :o

Buy 1 of those big black cast iron dutch ovens, they are awesome to cook in over a fire. Plus you can bake bread an all sorts in them. I love mine
