canvas hols vs eurocamp - help!

hi there

anybody know the difference between these two companies? We went with canvas hols last year - it was great and we're getting round to rebooking for this years hols, but I noticed that on one camp site we looked at eurocamp was far far cheaper (almost half the price).

Can this really be right? Are they any good?

I know canvas hols includes the price of the ferry from Dover, but as we don't take that route it makes no difference to us. If there is not much difference in quality then we will go with eurocamp - absolute no brainer

any advice gratefully received!!

We have been with keycamp who were great.

Have heard eurocamp are the same, their accommodation were near ours on the campsite and was no different tbh.

Canvas in my experience was cheaper and had bigger tents. Eurocamp had the smallest tents, and their kids clubs are shared with Keycamp; whereas Canvas has its own. The Eurocamp clubs are more polyglot than Canvas.
I would check the price for exactly what you want, including any loyalty discount just to make sure; because I'd be suspicious of such a price differential (unless its because of the poor Euro).
The other thing to do is to investigate going with the campsite itself, as that can e far cheaper.

Yes, the price difference can be that great. It must depend in when the high and low seasons are for that company in that area. We went to site last year, I paid just over £200 for the week, that included early booking discounts, it wasnt any cheaper to take our own tent. We could have added on an extra week for the same cost! I compared to another company who wanted well over £600 for the same site and same week. I can only assume they still had lots of UK customers at that time of year.

Thanks for the info - basically for the same site / same week eurocamp was about £370 and canvas about £630.

Makes no sense to me.

We went canvas last year and it was much cheaper than it is this year - and that's for the same time of year. I don't understand!!

I would go with eurocamp then.

Interesting - must depend on the time I guess. I went with Canvas last year and we had exactly the opposite - they were MUCH cheaper than any of the laternatives. Can you got at the end of the holidays? As a Scottish based company Canvas prices drops markedly then as they cater to the Scottish market. Also, their prices cover all ferry routes - you just have to pay a slight supplement with the others (we went Hull Rotterdam for example.)

Ah notyummy you have made it clearer! We are in Scotland and looked at the beginning of Scottish hols - before English ones. Might explain why canvas are at peak season but eurocamp not....
