Hi,

We have found what looks to be a perfect campsite near Annecy (but off the main drag a bit) - the only thing I am now worrying about is the DC's (5 and 2yo). here

Will there be anyone for them to play with? We would be going in August for 3 weeks, which I know is a busy time, but not sure if no-one with small children would come to this campsite? It just looks lovely with not too much happening, but would really love if there were a couple of children to play with DC's, especially DS who is 5yo. Don't want to be on the lake as it will be heaving, but at least we'd be close enough to visit - haven't been to this area before....

Does anyone know this campsite and what do you think about the situation? Is there anywhere else similar we could look at? Dosn't have to be in the immediate area. Thanks in advance!

I am just worried that there will be no children and they will be bored. Conversely, I don't want to be in a heaving campsite on the lake, unable to give them enough freedom to run around without the possibility of them falling in (they can't swim).... awwwwwww, don't know what to do!

It looks lovely; I think there will be other children around in August, it's totally peak time. There are children's games so there will be children.

We went to a camping municipal in the Vendée last year which had a couple of things going on for the children but they didn't use them at all, they just went to the playground and ran araound with the other kids

Are you camping or renting? If you are camping and it's too quiet you can just move on. But I'm sure it will be lovely.

also imo you are right about being able to give them freedom on that type of campsite - the bigger ones are a nightmare for that. A friend told me about a nightmare holiday at a big eurocamp site when her twins were 2ish, they had to just hang out at the playground the whole time because it was so busy and you couldn't take your eyes off the DC for a minute.

Hi Jamais,

Thanks for your reply! You have said what I was hoping for - I am sure there will be children at peak time, we are most likely going to book there - they have sent us some info, so just waiting on that arriving before we book.

The situation your friend had is exactly what we DONT want!!

I'm quite excited about it, as we have also never been to this part of France, we are usually (and always when I was a child) in the Vendee area - I can't wait, it looks beautiful!!

Don't forget to come back and tell us all about it.

My in-laws live not far from there, there are lots of lakes to swim in and walks to go on and Annecy itself is v. nice.

Hi Jamais,

I will report back once we have been - we have booked it now, so very excited!! Thanks
