Where does one go for 'posh' camping in France...??

OK - please don't shoot me down in flames - it's an honest question....

We'd love to do a camping/ park chalet / closer to nature sort of holiday in Northern France, but I simply don't know where to start (probably already too late/ fully booked?)

But the idea of a mega-campsite with (only)lots of lobster pink Brits just doesn't appeal.

Would like something smaller, less 'holiday club-like' but with some things to do with the DS's (who will be 6 & 4 when we go).

Clearly there are lots of folk here with good experiences - any suggestions?

Are you looking for companies, I have a pile of brochures here? French life looks good.

They will usually say if they are large and lively or smaller quiet ones.

Companies/ places - anything! It's just that when I read the thread about Cornwall vs. Normandy I realised that there must be a wealth of knowledge on here...

It's a bit like knowing in the UK that you wouldn't want to go to Butlins, but CenterParcs is OK - except I haven't a clue what the French equivalents are?

Brittany Ferries
Hoseasons lodges and parks
Cresta experience france- holiday villages

others are Siblu (haven), Canvas, Keycamp French life.. If you google campsites france you will get the independant and municipals that will have less brits.

Canvas are good. they have smaller sites, which are quieter. The camping et castles chain is quite posh. have a shufti at this one

posh camping is not an oximoron!

Look at mane Guernehue in baden (Brittany) we went with French Life. Gorgeous place, sleepy quiet are but enought to do on site. Was ideal for our 2 - 15m and 30m at the time. best pool complex ever but a more 'refined' site witha variety of antinalities. Village is within walking distance and lovely - typically French. I'd recommend! Lots of fab places to visit nearby - only real touristy place is Carnac but you can avoid that!

How about this?
