Where shall I go tomorrow? W Wittering / E Dorset / New Forest /s coast area.

I am thinking of taking off with DS tomorrow. Eweleaze Farm is fully booked. My preference is for a wild-type site which allows campfires but that is not essential. Am not at all keen on vast holiday park places.

What's Nunnington at W Wittering like?

Hollands Wood near Brockenhurst , New Forest is lovely - no campfires though, but direct access to open forest, ponies wandering about, and nice loos / showers.

Tom's Field near Swanage is lovely but I think very busy in school hols. No campfires but no caravans - felt very cosy and lovely - not like camping in giant carpark

We've just got back from a week here , it really is a lovely site . Was very quiet whilst we were there, we pitched right by the lake. Toilets etc are really clean and they allow campfires too. Really quiet after 10pm and lots and lots of nature around and about. It's about 20 min drive to the New Forest and Moor Valley Country Park is about 10 mins down the road.

second Hollands park brockenhurst. Best place we've found although can get busy. We've recently been exploring swanage. Train to Corfe castle fab.....

Thank you - I am now bearing all these on mind for couple of weeks time.
Loads and loads of places booked up now, but we are off to Norman's bay tomorrow. Been there before - it's such a great location, but more regimented than I generally like my camping and we won't be able to use my fab newish Campfire Grill over a fire.

But we'll have a nice few days away.

My in laws live in Bexhill along coast. If you've got car try and get to Alfriston village (quaint) Lewes is great (Bill's is a great home-made organic cafe on main steet.) If you have young kids there is a brill farm called 'Middle farm' along the A road to Lewes. You probably know this if been area before but being a helpful Harriet!!

moonmother- we went to meadow view caraven park this weekend on your recommendation and had the most fabulous time. They had the best showers I have ever seen at a campsite, each cubicle had its own heated towel rail and changing area. The children saw so much wildlife and the staff were really helpful. Indian takeaway delivered to the campsite too. Yummy
