Dh has work colleague who is taking early retirement. He goes camping but always borrows a tent. They want to buy him a tent as a leaving present. Without letting him know what they are planning they have got a bit of info out of him. Requirements - space for 2 plus a dog. Would like a living room. That's about it I think. Budget up to £200.
Can anyone help guide us to a particular tent or retailer or make.
Thanks!

tente.quechua.com/en/tent/r-2,en-tentes-instantanees.html

Quechua pop up tents are good quality and easy to get up on his own, lots of different designs and prices. I've linked true actual site but you can buy in outdoors stores or on line

What about one of those Quechuas SeaShells linked to, and then a Kelly Kettle as a "fun" addition? Would be doable under £200, and something I'd have loved as a leaving present!

The Base Seconds 4.2 should be perfect.

hmm, apols for hijack... but do you think pop-ups are easy to put up alone?

someone told me not to get one cos if it's a bit windy there's no chance of pitching it by yourself??? but if they lie then i may need to have another look at them.

Well, we've got a Base Seconds Full (so without the bedroom bits) which we use as utility, and it's dead easy. If you're near Decathlon, go there. They let us play around and "pop" them up etc. Also showed us in person how to fold flat afterwards.

Gosh thank you so much for all those suggestions!
Really like the first one. Just said £200 as a ballpark figure.
Didn!t realise you could get a biggish, good quality tent for that price.

i'm not that close to one, but it's a good enough reason to visit lakeside Grin

Hehe. I'm trying to avoid Decathlon at the moment, as there is really nothing else I need, yet I am unable to leave without at least a little something. Love that place.
