Do French campsites have the same plug in points as British ones, or do you need a different one, or an adaptor?

Sometimes they have the same and sometimes you need an adaptor. Best to take one, just in case. Sometimes they have both types on the same site. also, at some sites you might need a really long lead.

Depends as poster above said. If you stay at a site that caters for mostly brits then it may have a uk plug. However I would buy a continental adaptor just to be on the safe side.
We have a caravan and we were recommended to get a reverse polarity detector which is a little plug with lights on it and my dh wired up a reverse polarity lead. He got the instructions from a magazine so I don't think it's too difficult.
You may not need this if you are camping and not running much off your electrics perhaps some seasoned campers can advise.
Im not exactly sure but I think in some cases their positive is our neutral and the electricity circuit goes the wrong way and can fuse your equipment eg fridge etc.

I will have a look at the campsite's website then, see if I can find out a bit more info. We haven't got a fridge, it is for charging phones and lanterns, don't want my phone fused!

The campsite we stayed at had suitable adaptors that you could borrow for your stay with a suitable deposit (20 euros) which was returned at the end of the holiday. So we did not need to buy anything.
