I've been looking at some sites as we're thinking of 3/4 nights down there for the end of half term week (1st week of June).

Can anyone recommend a nice site, preferably where no dogs are allowed? Also, we would need access to a refrigerator, either onsite or really nice site owners who will keep DS's treatment in their fridge for us Smile

Bit of info: just 3 of us, DS is 3yo.

TIA

We stayed at Ty Parke a couple of years ago. No hook ups but you can have real fires. There are a limited number of pitches and there are communal fridges.
Dogs are allowed though as we took ours.
I really loved it, in the country and a big space safe for kids.

Thanks Angel, did the dogs have to be kept on a lead? I've got a dog phobia but I'm ok as long as they're controlled. I just have visions of dogs running around and getting into my tent! It sounds lovely, somewhere for DS to run around is a must, he loves being outdoors.

Sandy Haven Camping Park is a little gem. It's right on the beach of - you'd never guess, Sandy Haven, between St Ishmael's and Milford Haven. Just scramble down the low cliff. The beach has sand and rocks, and when the tide goes out, the river inlet empties so that there are acres of sand. You can also go crabbing at low tide from stepping stones across the river. When the tide is in, the river inlet makes a wonderful, safe place for kayaking etc.

It does allow dogs, but is a small site, so there aren't that many. Nobody's dog should be allowed to run loose and make a nuisance of itself on any site. The loo and shower block is clean. You'd need to ask about fridges for medication.

Dogs should always been on a lead. We have a corkscrew thing to fasten ours outside the tent so he doesn't wander off.
However, the sheep dogs that live there roamed free, so it might not be the best for you Sad

Butterbur - thanks, I might look into that site, it sounds lovely. As it happens now DH can't get time off, so I may be hunting for somewhere over bank holiday weekend - eek! Wish me luck!

Angel thanks for letting me know that, we stayed at a guesthouse down that way a few years ago and the owners had a dog who wandered around the grounds (very old and slow-moving thankfully) but there was no heads-up about it, so I was a bit weary every time we went to the car and returned back there. I just had a look at the TY Parke website, it's exclusively for Caravan Club members, which I am not at the moment, so unfortunately can't stay there anyway Sad
