Going camping soon and will be taking our dog, so space will be limited even more this year.

I have wondered about those vacuum travel bags or something similar. Does anyone have any ideas, tips etc. Was thinking more about the bedding, as we normally take pillows and duvets. Last year we actually chucked the pillows when packing up to come home as space was so tight!

I mean how could you use the vacuum bags when camping as didn't plan on taking the vacuum cleaner with me!

Have tried to do a search but doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Confused

I use the vac bags for taking our bedding - we've got a rechargeable inflator/deflator that we use for the airbeds, so I switch it to deflate for the bags when repacking to come home and it works really well.

I bought it in Decathlon, but I'm sure there must be loads similar online... wasn't that expensive, about £12 (sorry to be vague, am at work otherwise would find link...)

Don't know if it would work but you can buy those electric pumps which you plug into the cigarette lighter of your car to blow up airbeds. They often are reversible and suck air out too. Whether that would work for vacuum bags would depend if you could get a nozzle of the pump to fit the vacuum bag but it might be worth looking into...

ohh have electric thingy that blows up the airbeds, i didn't know you could use it to deflate, will check if ours does that.

Can anyone recommend a brand of vac bags, have been looking on amazon.

We're going to buy some vacuum bags for clothes & bedding - they take up such a lot of space.

We've got compression bags. Used it to pack pants and socks last month and it packs down to about a third.

Don't buy JML bags, ours were crap, saw anothe thread where lots of people said the same. We 've had some good ones from Lakeland Ltd, but our air bed pump nozle is too small to fit over the valve

There are some that don't require a pump/vacuum. like this (can't recommend a particular brand though as I've never used them myself)

Have checked Lakeland and they've got some of the roll up ones on 2 for1 at the moment, going to get some of those myself.
